A friend of mine was playing cello for that View gig. I didn't see it, but I bet she looked cute.

She got a whole lot of Altoids and three bottles of vodka. From the View, not from the Diamond.

aj, I am super-sorry to hear about the 'jacking, but I would like to pause and say that I think it's extremely, extremely excellent that your most valuable possession is a tackle box. There's something about that fact that warms 95% of my heart, leaving the other 5% free to blacken the shade of "hun...

Chillsies, I ordered mine a month ago and am still waiting. I think McSwy's has sort of a notorious lateness issue on mailings.

A quick note & addendum: the compilation is also packaged with a nice-looking book published by McSweeney's. It costs $28.00, but the extra three (all donation) will certainly be worth it. It can be pre-ordered at the McSwy's site. There are many good writers and many annoying ones. Go crazy.

Regarding the original thread subject, I would like to say that last week I went a'cookin', only to realize that the butter purchased for me was unsalted. I stood in the kitchen feeling as though I ought to have a minor breakdown, but couldn't seem to generate any reasons. Meg, I thought, Meg, it's ...

Incidentally, there was a game called Amazon Trail made by the same people who made Oregon Trail. I played a prototype of it as an Official Tester for Consumer Reports for Kids (jealous?). I remember you had to pick up a lot of weapons (I was a fan of the machete) and part of your job was to photogr...

I still remember learning the word "gregarious" from Oregon Trail and using it when I was 8 or 9, impressing the hell out of my teachers.. Meanwhile, I learned the words "typhoid" and "diphtheria" and impressed nobody. Best was when one of your travel companions died of a broken limb. THOSE PUSSIES.

F is for FRIENDS. The Long Winters have many friends playing on their album. F is also for FUTURE SOUNDTRACK FOR AMERICA and also FREEBIRD. Incidentally, if I follow the show properly (and I've seen TWO WHOLE EPISODES, so let's give me some credit), you can have more than one word per letter. So let...
