Re: Elec-tronic Salon Swap #12
You know a swap is successful when you end up buying three or four albums from artists on the mix. I would recommend "Say Something" by Via Audio in particular. Here's the track list of the mix I sent to grant: 1. "Furry" - 100 Watt Smile 2. "Measure 3" - Matt Pond PA 3. "Tryst With Mephistopheles" ...

Re: Elec-tronic Salon Swap #12
I've had grant's for a while and have been enjoying it. Mine was sent out last week, so hopefully he'll get it soon. Our swap is almost successful!

The new song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vU5uUiHpb20 You can see the back of my head in this video. I'm the tall guy whose head is blocking out the right side of John's monitor. As for Honest, it's understandly a personal preference, but it is easily one of my least favorite TLW songs and it's b...

Re: Bumbershoot 2009.
The rock version of Bride & Bridle was quite amazing. In all of the times I've seen TLW live I had never seen them play that song, acoustic or not. I was very happy with it. The new song was one of my favorites of the set. It makes me extremely excited for the album now. Also, I would like to reiter...

Re: Bumbershoot 2009.
I almost couldn't tell if they are or not, because I honestly have no idea who 90% of the bands playing even are. I'm not THAT old, crotchety and behind the times, either. It just seems like every year the lineup gets a little more obscure and underwhelming. I'll try to see the positive in it: Maybe...

Re: Bumbershoot 2009.
My oh my, the Bumbershoot lineup this year might be the most underwhelming one I've ever seen. They scheduled De La Soul and TLW at the same time, and then Metric and Modest Mouse at the same time, as well. Thanks, Bumbershoot, for limiting my reasons to come to you even more. I'm seriously not sure...

Re: Bonnaroo Help
I saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA (billed as San Francisco, ha) a couple years back and they weren't that great live. I don't like their new stuff much, either. Of course, I don't even know the other two, so default to Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Rafaael Saadiq might ...

Re: Bumbershoot 2009.
Freakin' dammit. After the last few years of going to Bumbershoot and being terribly disappointed each year, they are not allowed to put three bands (Modest Mouse, De La Soul and, of course, TLW) that I want to see in the sneak preview.

Fuck. That sounds like it would have been both a fun time and actually really informative. Stupid snow.

Wow, that is tonight already, huh? If it were not snowing really hard and sticking to the roads here then I might have considered coming up for it.

Damned rain. So, I ended up not going and now I am really sad about it. I was driving down a major road in Olympia towards the on-ramp to I-5 and I hydroplaned a good five or six times and got splashed with a huge amount of water and completely lost visibility for a couple seconds. Afterwards I deci...

2-Cowboy Bebop: Remix-An anime? Yes. A fantastic tv show where each episode is musically themed and stylized? Oh yes. Just watch the intro. So, I was watching the pre-preview AMC thing before Burn After Reading and they were talking about Chuck and the new Christian Slater show on NBC. When it star...
