Re: West Coast tour
I haven't been to Reno, but I did drive the length of Nevada (from Bonneville to Vegas) last summer, and I can tell you one thing about that: you only need a little exposure to get that desert feel. It was 120 degrees in the car without air conditioning at one point. So I'd recommend that you check ...

Re: John on Starbucks Compilation
Is there any way to buy the song online? It won't let me buy it because I'm in Canada. If it wasn't so damned cold out I'd walk down to the beach and see if I could pick up an american wifi signal. I've actually done that before, lol. I get those crazy-weird Rodgers wireless signals on my phone all...

Re: guilty pleasure ("music" style)
I will stand up and shout to the world my love for 90's swing. Pop in some Indigo Swing, Royal Crown Revue, or Brian Setzer, or Big Bad Vodoo Daddy, or Alien Fashion Show, or Lee Press-On & The Nails, or The Mighty Blue Kings, and I'm all for throwing down my show-offy, poorly executed, ECS or Lindy...

I want to finish writing this book, and to play hockey through the summer. And The Long Winters and Band of Horses playing in NYC. I'm adjusting my expectations.

Re: hard shell tacos
There is absolutely nothing like a hardshell Mighty Taco from Mighty Taco . They're so good, as folks in that second link testify to, that their food can't even be considered "Tex-Mex" or "Southwest" or "Mexican" style food. It's Mighty, not just a "hard shell taco". Though they are just as messy as...

Re: Oops! All Berries...(A "Cap'n Crunch" Joint)
There are three things I can't believe about this post:
1) It took me 2 pages to realize it is 6 years old.
2) HW remembered he made it 6 years ago.
3) I used to like Honey Nut Cheerios. Ugh.

See?! See?! This is absolutely what I get for being off line for like a million years! I could really use some new music.
But, since the deadline is 4 days away, anyone willing to share some track lists?

Re: Promessa AB
Those links were ridiculously helpful--I never ran across that story from February, and I didn't even think about checking linked in to ask her. Those additional options are great, and I appreciate you sending that along too. The nature of Promessa's technique is what we're interested in, especially...

The former for its joy, and the latter for the personal connection I've imbued of my Grandfather's passing inside, and the prescient purchase of "Pet Sounds" before the release of that particular song.

Hey, happy Thanksgiving to ya'll as well!
I'm pretty thankful for my noise reducing headphones, pretzels, my family and all ye olde loved ones, Stephen Colbert's Holiday Special, whiskey and soda, books on the occult, and The French Connection.
I hope everyone had enough to eat!

Two favorites: 1-Star Trek: Deep Space Nine-a number of the writers on DS9 became the creative forced behind Battlestar Galactica; similar themes, characters and dilemas--different results and more action! 2-Cowboy Bebop: Remix-An anime? Yes. A fantastic tv show where each episode is musically theme...

I think Sour's estimate comes more from the average amount of time it takes a band to record a record and tour it, to come home and record another record. I don't mean to say that with certainty, but with some subtle observations of my own record collection, most bands have an album out around the 2...

I finished it in classic style (well for me anyway): less than 24 hours after finishing it. I don't have any photos, but I read most of mine in the second floor of Millard Filmore Suburban Hospital, when I wasn't spending time with my Grandpa, who was there for 3 weeks. Don't worry, he's in a nursin...
