Okkervil River - Song of our so-called friend
The Shins - New Slang (its almost cliche at this point, but it's amazing nonetheless)
The Long Winters - Scared Straight or The Commander
Elliott Smith - Color Bars or a Fond Farewell or Angeles
Neutral Milk Hotel - King of Carrot Flowers pt 1

I purchased my '91 Ric 330 on eBay a year ago, which in retrospect was pretty risky business, but I lucked-out big time and am very happy with that purchase. PLUS, when people buy new Rics I get to say things like "yeah, the body on mine was hand made . . . they don't do that anymore, you know . . ....

I'm always happy to see their music finding it's way into the mainstream circuit. It's more than deserving, afterall. It's becoming so common these days for "indie" bands to be getting mainstream attention- which is something I'm totally in support of. But I remember hearing The Shins on the End at ...

Coldpay? Really? I read way too many music reviews, and more than their share have been about the Long Winters- never have a hard a Coldplay comparison, and this EP sounds NOTHING like Coldplay- in my humble (but extremely accurate and correct) opinion, of course!

Mountain Lion are straight killing machines. IMO, if anything this could end up being a draw, but I can't see a brown bear ever winning. Not even one from Kodiak Island!

OKAY- so I got the EP today!!! Awesome. You guys, like yourselves, I've been anticipating this one for so long. And despite the fact that only two of the songs were new to me, It's as exciting as any other band's full-length. I'm not gonna write a review or anything, since you'll all be hearing it s...

The question is: What would the "Greatest Generation" have to say?

The big (similar) argument my friends and I often had (and even on occasion STILL have) is Bear vs. Mountain Lion . This is especially pertinent in the Pacific Northwest where this could very well show itself. Of course, we're talking about a Grizzly and a very large Mountain Lion... neither of whi...

This is like one of those hypothetical situations you talk about when you're a kid. "Man, what if a python and an Alligator totally fought!?" And then some of those kids grow up and make television shows airing on the Discovery Channel trying to figure it out. In conclusion: best, headline, ever.
