Re: John to Appear at The Crocodile 11/5/2010

Liesbeth wrote:so when does your knit-to-order webshop open, Dianna?
I could do with a hat and matching gloves.

Re: John to Appear at The Crocodile 11/5/2010

Thanks for the Back Beat link! That photographer is, fittingly enough, a knitter I know. She said she'd send some more photos my way.

And this clocked in as my fastest sweater ever, knit start to finish in 6 days. Normally I'll give myself a couple weeks, though, at least.

Awesome.

Boat's default on myspace has been changed to the Diet Coke picture. I'm gonna say that's not a coincidence.

Is that the best pastrami sandwich picture you could find? A) No, but I don't think porn is allowed on this site... B) May I please see your "Pastrami Expert" credentials??? C) What's wrong with it??? It's a Katz's classic!!! Nothing against the sandwich itself, just the photo. I have high standard...

^ You're not the only one. I spent ridiculous amounts of money going to the Netherlands and to Spain last fall to see JV play (for clarification: I was living in France, I didn't randomly hop the pond twice), but I cringed a little bit when I had to drop 30$ on a Spoon ticket a few weeks ago. I'm br...

My all-time favorite sweet pastry might be kürtős kalács from the little carts in Moskvater in Budapest:

On the subject of Dutch pastries, that apple pie in Utrecht left a pretty big impression on me, I have to admit. I had some the next day in Rotterdam, too.

it's philosophical in a way: can something that's missing make an appearance? I thought about that when I initially started the Sing Again thread, and I'm about to go all linguistics-nerd on everyone, but it felt more natural to refer to the long-gone missing tooth itself than to the subsequent gap...

John and Eric (along with many, many others) make appearances in the video for Chris Walla's "Sing Again":

You know Franz Joseph got so upset that the Opera House he had built in Budapest was nicer than the one in Vienna that he left the only performance he ever went to halfway through and never came back. Sissi went to that Opera house frequently, though, but never got to sit in the royal box, 'cause th...
