Yeah, the only part of that interview that was actually bad was the intro. The rest of it is maybe not as witty as we might have come to expect from the fabulous J.R., but still pretty interesting and insightful.

Leave it to John to combine silliness and sincerity in such an articulate fashion, while skillfully deflecting the jaded bullets of The Onion people.

Has John ever given a BAD interview??

Somebody post that!

Hm. Does it make sense (to me)? I think so. I think you're saying that you're envious of the fact that John's gotten to a point where he's made good in a way that anyone who might've ever told him (in one fashion or another) that he wasn't any good couldn't possibly ignore. And the letters are just ...

No, people actually carve or "tag" their name ("logos") on to many-o-toilet bowls here. ... ... why anyone thought that it makes complete sense to carve their name into a toilet bowls, so you can have people piss all over your name, something that SHOULD be made into a book if you ask me. Actually ...

"craved"?

Did you mean 'carved'? 'craved into' is an interesting concept, though...

Wait, what you should do is actually carve the stuff into toilets. Like in the bowls. That would be a badass installation piece.

[ Nah, you can have it. My great idea is to make a collection of amusing messages written on the walls of bathroom stalls, complete with addresses. It'd be a great coffee table book.[/quote] Yeah, except that most of the things that get written on bathroom walls are completely idiotic soapboxing by...

What I very much dig is how differently arty each of the letters are. In their own ways. Handwriting to type to mimeograph. Nice even when I'm not squinting to pick out the words. I agree. The visual effect definitely echoes the content. Call me stupid: I'm curious; what specifically about the lett...

Well, not that this is in any way helpful (especially since you're obviously done with the layover!) But I once had a 4 hour layover in Chicago from 8am to noon with my two insanely overly energetic boy-children. We did lots of running and gliding with the luggage cart, ate lots of nasty food from t...

Hmmmm...this sounds like it could be a rather unconventional version of "having it out in the streets"! I think it should be like that summer camp game where we give them both a paper bag filled with random objects and see who comes up with the most badass usage of said objects. Yeeeeeeeah!

new lexicon?

Maybe it isn't useful to use the word 'drug' in this context. Maybe if we stick with 'addiction' or 'habit' we'll have an easier time understanding eachother. :) In any case, I'll add my two cents on this topic: The unhappiest people I know, romantically speaking, are the ones who like pop music the...
