there is a certain type of music (and the strokes fits into this category for me) that really helps me not stress out about things like driving in heavy fog, or the 5 or so children that seem to be always screeching through my apartment, or whiny boyfriend-types complaining about my lack of availabi...

if the band is great, i table this desire.

attention seeking and self-adulation. which actually ties in nicely with no pic's question about my name. which does, of course, mean belly-button, which is nice enough, but i chose it as my alias because of a greek myth involving a lydian queen, herakles, and the skin of the nimean lion. i don't ne...

sorry, betty, i didn't mean to be dismissive, i was just overwhelmed! also, i have no definitive answers, because each performance is such a unique experience for me. frequently i know the people playing in the band that i'm going to see, so clearly that makes a huge difference. Is the singer my boy...

do y'all think wether one likes or dislikes Blanket Hog might be dependent on one's gender? just a theory. Omphale- your name makes me think of belly buttons. do your kids have cool names like foramen or vena cava? what's the theory exactly? that girls like it and boys don't? or vice versa? and sad...

Also, I'm glad there are people here who actively seek out things that make them uncomfortable. It's good for you. I mean...I don't particularly enjoy crying my eyes out at documentaries of the oppressed and mistreated peoples of the world...but it's important nonetheless. yes, exactly. (now, get s...

yo, betty, settle down!!! you definitely need a glass of wine, a massage and maybe a hot bath. (either that or a kickboxing class, it's hard to say) actually, let's just make it a couple shots of bourbon (or, as my friends and i like to call it 'fist-fight your friends'). that way you can have it all.

well, my band is not an all-girl band, but i am a girl (at least physically) and it is my band and i did start it and what i have to say is that it's definitely more about masturbation (in the sense that mildlyrestared mentioned earlier) than getting laid. meaning: my reasons for starting a band wer...

and here is something i have always found interesting yet upsetting at the same time about the internet in general. people i am no longer friends w/or date, i am able to still know what they are up to w/o even ever speaking to them again. and really, i don't like that. hmm. my strangely inverted se...

incontinent??!!? What were you listening to, Menudo? Maybe I should've just said *feel* and then explained that, because I am actually a Vulcan, all feelings are horribly uncomfortable for me And then I should have further explained that since it is my mission to try to understand humanity, one of t...

I guess I'd say Hater High, but not because I actually don't like it, but just because it *doesn't* make me feel anything uncomfortable. A song that doesn't make me uncomfortable is just sounds and words, in an arrangement that may or may not be aurally pleasing. And for that I have my children.

i've also found it quite useful for keeping track of x-lovers and other people who really don't want me to know what they're up to anymore.

I have been known to threaten to beat up people who yell 'Freebird' at shows. Of course, mostly people just think I'm hitting on them. Unless my little brother is backing me up. Somehow, the most out of control heckling seems to come from people who are obviously really big fans. Several years ago, ...

the entire purpose of friendster, as i see it, is to have an excuse to write gushy over-the-top testimonials about all of your friends and post them for public perusal. this is 'useful' to me because i am ordinarily an utterly self-absorbed egomaniac and so it provides me with an outlet for my giddy...

i have a general tendency to skip all the stages of grieving except anger, depression and acceptance. in this case, i've been vascillating rather wildly between them. there was just no way for me to be shocked or surprised, either at his death or at the nature of it. i didn't know elliott, but i t w...
