This sounded so lawyerly that I thought I'd just go that extra mile....in moon boots. I'm sorry but the drink that shall be known henceforth as the Long Winter already exists and its contents, as created by Ms. Metro Bartender, are non-negotiable. BE IT RESOLVED, that Betty Felon, President and Bett...

I'm sorry but the drink that shall be known henceforth as the Long Winter already exists and its contents, as created by Ms. Metro Bartender, are non-negotiable. It's Vodka, Kaluha, and Bailey's. But Liz, I do feel your pain as vodka is my I-almost-died-in-college alcohol. I find it physically, ment...

Make mine a Long Winter....
At the Subterranean show, a new drink was created by Eric and coined The Long Winter. It's a white russian with Baily's instead of cream.
It's sweet and rich, but packs an insanely powerful punch. How appropriate is that?
Everyone start ordering them in bars and spread the word. giddyup!

Can I venture to claim that Death Cab Fans are the cutie patootiest things? I love hipsters even, they dress better than I ever could. Quotes heard from the circle of people around me during/after TLW played: "Let's move to the front!" "These guys are hilarious...who are they again?" "This is the fi...

yeah, I agree. Monkies, doggies and bears are strictly for entertainment, not for eating...alive or dead. I just wanted to quote the King Missle song. It was not fun being a wuss, and even now, Now that I'm not nearly as much of a wuss as I once was, I still feel kind of wussy from time to time: Res...

disco fries. awesome. I think it's funny that everyone is grossed out by stuff like ketchup and eggs, or plates where the food is touching the other food. In other countries they eat bugs, organs, blood, monkey brains, food that is still alive, etc. We are WUSSES. WUSS WUSS WUSS. We are really wusse...

Fries and gravy is a Canadian staple. I believe it's called poutine Ah yes, poutine. I remember hearing of this delicacy during the 2000 presidential election. Rick Mercer, posing as a canadian reporter, told GW that Prime Minister Jean Poutine endorsed his run. Bush beamed and responded excitedly ...

Radiohead finally proven not uplifting
m Here's an interesting music experiment. Seeking original reaction to Radiohead, the writer played a variety of thier work for fifth graders and asked them to draw what the music was about. The pictures and captions are fabulous. Here, one kid offers Thom a thousand foot ice cream cone: http://www....

Ketchup on eggs is alright (my whole midwestern family does that) but it pales in comparison to the southwest's delightful food convention of eating EVERYTHING with green chili and/or salsa on it. Eggs without salsa is like pizza without beer. In Santa Fe, you can order a green chili cheeseburger at...

I like them, they can be viewed as even more personal than a photograph, though I suppose the importance is sentimental and/or something you assign in your mind. They can be memory triggers, if you like that sort of thing, to put in a pretty box with your photographs, poems, postcards, useless trink...

where are ya now? I've tried living in other places...but the heartland is where I'm supposed to be. Chicago is the bestest....all the benefits of either huge coastal metropolis, without the pretention and obscene costs of living. Hard workin', hard drinkin', hard rockin', life lovin' peoples. Cours...

I hear what you are saying, but do you really think it's something they would have control over? Can you make less people buy tickets to your shows? Continue to play small gigs even though there are arenas of fans? I'm thinking of Wilco here. At least in Chi, you just can't see them. Thier drummer's...
