Pretty sure that essentially any method, including strobe tuner, is cheaper. Also, I went to the site, and I'm not convinced that Gibson buffs out the lacquer on their guitars with the hardware and strings on, despite apparent photographic evidence to the contrary.

I dunno, I think putting your head inside the iron lung is contraindicated in all the literature I've seen. It may in fact void the warranty.

Very true. It's so "indie-rock" to sing while inside an iron lung...

Yeah, dude. Radiohead only sang about having an iron lung, and it might've even been metaphorical.

In his introduction, John spoke of how he was a big fan of Sasha Frere-Jones' work for many years before finding out that he was a white guy, rather than a black woman. John's voice was incredible that night; if I hadn't thought I had plans, I would've driven to Portland for the next show, in a hear...

It was a very entertaining show, everyone sang or entertained beautifully; I'd never been to that venue before, I'm pretty excited at the prospect of seeing the Magnetic Fields there, come March.

I was wondering what percentage of people did just what Ica said; I suppose there's not really any way to find out, but I'm sure it was at least a portion of the downloaders. I have to think that the buyers of the super package are somehow included in the numbers, or else this is kinda silly; pre-or...

You're meddling with forces you don't understand; this thread was in the ground for a week and a half.

I'm fairly certain that almost none of the items listed are particularly terrible, when taken alone. Like the Constructicons, their powers are much more devastating when combined.

There. I said it.

They used to play "In The Air Tonight" when I worked at IKEA, and it's almost impossible to not play air drums in the middle where it breaks. Thanks for the This American Life link, I missed that episode but I think I'm ready to like Phil Collins again.

my thought is that some message boards will let you see people's contact information (email, IM, etc.) once you log in, and some boards require you to prove that you're a real person (by posting) before you can get access. My general thought is that it *is* related to spam, in some way.

It's largely a texture thing for me, though the "taste" doesn't do much for me either. I can eat just fine without food grade lubricant fouling things up.

I don't quite share your stance on meat, but I stand with you in solidarity against the tyranny of Mayonnaise.

I don't recall any prior mustard talk, either. Are you sure it wasn't a dream? Once in a while I have a dream that is so ho-hum and banal that I'll remember it later, and have a hard time figuring out if it really happened. Of course, now I'm destined to dream of posting to the board; if anything re...

sorry, I meant do you usually buy Pastrami, or is it Smoked Meat that you buy? There is apparently a difference based on much lurking on food message boards. Next Canada question: can you buy a gallon of milk (or it's metric equivalent) in a jug, or are they all in bags? I'm lactose intolerant, so I...

some notes: Sour, do you have pastrami up there, or "smoked meat"? only in my advancing age have I learned to like mustard, but I generally prefer the non-yellow stuff. Dianna, are you saying that Yellow Mustard doesn't cut... itself? My age will most likely never advance to the point that I like ma...

Not that I think it should have any bearing on this topic, cuz any new conversation around here is a good one, but I'm pretty sure "Mike" isn't a real person, based on the fact that he's signed up for a few hundred message boards, most of which had the same post as was posted here. Disappointing, I ...
