none of those kids look like they are enjoying themselves. please, people who are utterly bored by amazing rock bands, stand in the back so the ones who really do give a shit about the music can do their thing.

why? what's not good about it. That single, The End of the World, is GREAT. do you like the Cure otherwise? This is turning into the Cure thread. I don't mind one bit. you know how there's like two lines when it comes to the cure/the smiths? i was always on the smiths fence. i don't know, the cure ...

heather's two cents: i hate the new cure cd. the rapture kind of annoys me, but i'm not too into the dancey-nyc-hip thing. muse is on that tour, too--they are great, but someone told me they sound a "little too good" live, if you know what i mean. the new interpol cd is kind of nice (out in septembe...

you lose WAY too much with digital. once i got a [new] digital camera, i used more film, as well.

i still want a k1000, but no go. a girl can dream. and look at ebay for hours. i've got an old canon viewfinder that i'm still trying to fully work. ah, that's life.

most people who hang out with me get annoyed, because i always have at least two (and sometimes three) cameras with me. it's why i always have the biggest bags in the world. SLR, digital, polaroid.. you never know when a "kodak moment" will arise.

i'm crazy, i know.

Re: austin, texas. the parish. june 22, 2004

two questions about the decemberists set: is colin meloy playing that joanna newsom song for an encore at all the shows on this tour? it was very, very good. and does he do a little banter about how "the chimbley sweep" is the life story of our beloved j.ro? too cute. 1. i don't think he is playing...

It is interesting though--I've always thought it seemed like sort of an odd pairing, even though they seem to have a lot of overlap in their fan base. I agree with them seeing like an odd pairing: I was expecting the Long Winters fans not to like the Decemberists ("as much") and the Decemberists fa...

One of the restaurants is outstanding. It's the westernmost one, on the south side of 50 (which I think is Colonial in that part of the city). I cannot remember the restaurant's name -- Saigon Palace? King of Saigon? Viet King? -- but have eaten there on numerous occasions and never been dissatisfi...
