So? Plans?

What's everyone's thoughts on the new Death Cab album?

It holds up to my expectations, definitely. Not every track is killer, but I haven't found that on any album. And then of course there are brilliant songs. I'm pretty happy.

I think about that everytime I check this thread.

My fave band is Sloan and has been for about 4 years. I have not seen them live, but that's their fault for being on the other side of the world and not touring here. Placebo blew my mind live, on three tours over as many years, and even though they're not my ideal music, they're one of my favourit...

So, does anyone know what tracks will be on the new E.P.? Ultimatum, Delicate Hands (confirmed), perhaps Fire Island?

I doubt the band sees any revenue from people who go out and buy Spin, so as long as we promise, (promise, PROMISE!) to but the EP when it comes out (which IS a given, right? I mean, it has Ultimatum on it!), I don't *think* they'd cry. Well, duh. I mean, even if all the songs were R. Kelly covers ...

God, screw Spin. You bet I'll buy that issue, but I'll totally frown when I pay for it!

Consistency, I guess. A band can release a great record, but I don't consider them to be "one of my favs" unless they can do it again. Also, you're right about seeing live gigs and having that make a pretty strong impact. However, usually the awe of seeing a strong live performace usually wears off ...

A couple years ago I went through this major Elephant 6 collective listening binge and "got into" all those bands. Only a few still inhabit my cd players, and Of Montreal tops my list. Kevin Barnes is the man, he literally does everything on those albums and just tours with friends from other E6 ban...

Yeah, that song was NOT in the film. That being said, it's a surprisingly clever and funny movie. Wouldn't have seen it myself, but when I heard the big thumbs up from lots of friends, I checked it out, and was definitely pleased.

A t-shirt worthy LW quote (especially for us in the NW) would be "It never rains enough to cool my fever, all it does is rain".

Then again, I personally don't like quoted t-shirts.

We all know MTV and VH1 for are no good at all, but once in a while we all watch them (some of us more than others), and when I do, I often hear bits and pieces of bands I really like playing behind one of those terrible shows. This makes perfect sense to me. I imagine that the qualified applicant f...
