I didn't mean to offend anyone with my pseudo-European opinion on your lists (I mean, I'm from Spain. In Europe? not quite.) I liked the list, though. That's not a thought I've ever had (the TWYCDIH and b & s comparison), but i love belle and sebastian more than you will ever know. I know. It's ...

No one has mentioned Belle and Sebastian? First time I listened to 'the worst you can do is harm' it sounded a bit B&S to me. Not that cute really, but there's something powerful about them that makes them very similar, I think.

I've always liked 'unsalted butter' a lot. It's kind of... perfectly imperfect. Tough attitude and a certain dose of self-pityness but with a witty and imaginative turn at some point... totally refreshing... and my English doesn't work when I get lyrical!! whatever. Butter-related lyrics: -A Tribe C...

Larkin

I was reading some old posts and this made me think of Phillipp Larkin’s ‘The Whitsun Wedding’. It would be hard to memorize, though. In turn, Larkin's poem reminded me of McCullers 'The Member of the Wedding', but that is a whole different story, plus it's not a poem... (I was going to post it ther...

diary

I've been visiting this site once a week for about a year and a half with the only intention to read a new diary entry. I suppose that the blog craze going on around may have somtehing to do with dear John's reticence to write anything of interest for the populace (that's us), besides songs, I mean....
