I just saw them today! For free! Outside on Duke University's campus! It was amazing and Kevin Barnes spent most of the set getting naked, as usual.

the same as that, i'd imagine. you find all the files, open them up in the program and order them. the only difference is that you can't (usually) play the tracks from the program directly.

You just got to make them feel like you want more, man. Even if you're the only one. Dance your ass off. And the girl that requested Mimi had to push pretty hard for it, with several between song reminders. Make your voice heard, and stuff.

Just thought I'd mention that Long Winters opening act What Made Milkwaukee Famous' singer was sporting a Good Records t-shirt tonight. They're from Austin.

Great show. Props to Dianna to being excellent company front center stage. Here are the songs I can remember. Definently not all in order. Pretty much all requests from the crowd, which warmed my heart. Clouds Seven Honest Fire Island AK Pushover Rich Wife Teaspoon Scared Straight Hindsight Cinnamon...

Here are my top 5 picks.

New Girl
Stupid
The Sound of Coming Down (I never let the album leave my CD changer without hearing these three near the end. An epic trilogy, man.)
Carparts
Ultimatum (The whole "coming back out for the encore with an acoustic guitar solo performance" is my ideal)

"Back to the top" as they say on the internet, for the show this Saturday. Dianna, I snuck a peek at your myspace photos, so be prepared for at least 15 minutes of awkward conversation if I can pick you out of the crowd!

For the record, it sounds to my ears like that A is an Am in The Sound of Coming Down, which I guess wouldn't really matter if you're not playing more than three strings into the power chord.

I just bought a Fender Deville. It's all clean tone, and I'm not sure if I like that yet. I think I need more cool pedals.

Elliott Smith "Son of Sam" (Acoustic)

Haunting, I like it better than the original album opener.

Jesus, what a great double bill. Feist is the best female vocalist I've ever heard live, for real.

What's a 6 hour drive between friends? Sacrifices must be made. I know, I've had by day off requested for weeks and weeks at my job and the boss man tells me today he won't let me take it off! But fuck that, mang. I'm arranging for an emergency phone call to get me out of there early. Besides, I alr...

Yeah, they played Amateur at my show, which is probably my favorite Nada Surf song. Hyperspace is an awesome closer. Also...."Meow Meow Lullabye"? What the hell, haha.

Low

Anyone listen to Low? A band pretty unlike The Long Winters, but it also has its own time and place. At first, I thought they were just boring, but I've been delving into their catalog lately and have become completely engrossed by their craft. My favorite albums overall have been Secret Name and Tr...
