Re: John at the Tractor April 1st

Someone just posted a video of John's reading at the Tractor last April - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hcaO0lK0YMg . He read a portion of his journal from his walk across Europe.

Re: Electric Aphorisms

I just talked to the Sorrento Hotel and it appears you need to RSVP for the reading on Nov. 12. They also recommend showing up a little early because they're expecting a crowd.

Re: Electric Aphorisms

A tweet from John Hodgman today seems to confirm that John's book will be a book of tweets. Hodgman apparently wrote the introduction. (Slightly OT but am I the only one who dislikes twitter terms such as tweet?)

Re: Electric Aphorisms

I'm glad someone found some more information about this. ( I had posted something under Swoon but I hadn't found any confirmation.) I thought perhaps John was just going to host but he's written a book - even better!

John Giving a Reading on Nov. 12?

I saw this on Matt Briggs blog: On November 12, I will be reading in Seattle with Matthew Stadler, Bruce Benderson, and John Roderick. The occasional will be the release of new books, including Shoot the Buffalo and Benderson’s great novel about the moirés and manners of North Pacific America, Pacif...

Re: Seattle Mayoral Debate at Reverbfest

The Seatle Weekly has the audio of the debate available : http://blogs.seattleweekly.com/reverb/2009/10/reverb_audio_joe_mallahan_mike.php . Also here's a blurry cell phone picture. The quality's not good but you can kind of get a sense of John's fancy suit : http://www.flickr.com/photos/reallowvibe...

Seattle Mayoral Debate at Reverbfest

If anyone was planning to head out to Reverbfest this Saturday, John will be one of the moderators at the mayoral debate - http://www.seattleweekly.com/2009-09-30/music/reverb-the-only-mayoral-debate-you-need-to-see/ . I'm still not entirely sure why a music festival is having a mayoral debate but i...

Has there been any word on who will be the drummer this weekend at Musicfest NW? John had said they might have chosen a permanent replacement by this show.

Re: John Wesley Harding’s Cabinet of Wonders

I went to this when it came to Seattle in April and it was an enormous amount of fun. John didn't sing at the one I went to, but he did read an excerpt from the journal he kept during his walk across Europe. JWH is coming back to Seattle in October but I believe that's just a regular concert at the ...

Re: Update

Nice article by John about what they've been going through to pick a new drummer: http://www.seattleweekly.com/2009-09-02 ... rs-drummer . Sounds like the final decision hasn't been made yet.

Songs for Eating and Drinking

John took part in a recent Songs for Eating and Drinking : http://blog.chasejarvis.com/blog/2009/08/brand-new-songs-for-eating-and-drinking.html . A bunch of musicians gather for an evening of food and music. Unfortunately there isn't any video of John but there's a pretty cool photo. There's some n...

The Stranger is reporting that the Doe Bay Festival is now sold out. I'm hoping for many review, photos, etc. for those of us who can't go. In particular info about any new songs would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Jim Anderson's Crocodile Cafe Recordings

The earliest shows seem to be 2002. Perhaps this is only part one of the release? I've never heard the Bun Family Players so I'd be interested in that. Back in the olden days when I was at the UW when you went to the media center you picked a selection you wanted to listen to and had one of the tech...

Jim Anderson's Crocodile Cafe Recordings

Jim Anderson's recordings from the Crococdile Cafe are now available at the University of Washington http://www.lib.washington.edu/media/crocodile.html .
