How will you feel then?

The Long Winters are so good. So unbelievably good. We all know it’s just a matter of time before they are unbelievably huge. While we wish the band members the best and they surely deserve to be filthy rich and ridiculously famous, how will you guys feel when you can’t see them in an intimate setti...

My cds are in my car so I can't say what they are next right this moment. The mp3 versions that I listen to inside my house are alphabetical between Lizst and Lucinda Williams. But much more interesting is where the cases live. I just checked out of curiosity and TWYCDIH is right inbetween Billy Hol...

aw. That's too bad. Have you ever seen better song titles in your life than those on Songs About Leaving? What does Seattle put in the water when your local burrito shop employees can make an album like that?

I wish I'd read this thread sooner. I was wandering around last night and I literally walked right by Subterranean and heard what I later found out was Centro-matic. The creepy door guy wanted full cover when they were almost done playing though, so I passed. bah.

Book Crossing

http://www.bookcrossing.com This site may be old news, but I love this concept. Basically, you take a book you love (or hate, I guess) register it at this website, print out the label below, and then leave it in a public place. The person who finds the book not only gets to read it, but gets to log ...

I will be at Chicago, Metro and Chicago, Sub. We will all shake our booties. Oh Boy. And hey kids, helpful tips for those planning on being at the Metro on October 10th: 1.) If you don't have tix, get em' ASAP, it's almost sold out. (I hate ticketmaster too.) 2.) Don't even bother trying to park nea...

Wow. I think that's the first pic I've seen of Eric where he wasn't wearing the black "Three" shirt.

Aw. Bummer, dude. Maybe I'll just have to skip the roller coasters and go for you.

Have you thought about the 10/12 show in Champaign? It's closer to St. Louis. (~3 hours) Just a thought.

I have still not decided between Long Winters or Roller Coasters.

But I will be at the Subterreanean set. I'm skipping one Neko Case live and in person at intimate little Schuba's for it. So don't doubt my devotion...to long winters or roller coasters.

I've never seen this Jim Shearer fella. Every time I venture to turn on MTV2 there is a plastic baby being wiggled while someone is screaming, and I reflexively turn it off.

What the hell happened to Kurt Loder?

I suggest Life of Pi by Yann Martel. If your liberry doesn't have it yet, I guaruntee you won't be dissapointed by The Secret History by Donna Taart, or anything written by Italo Calvino. If you like nonfiction, I was actually physically incapable of putting down The Botony of Desire by Michael Poll...

Fantastic. This is great news. Thanks for posting it!

Subterranean is great. Parking can be found easily a little further north in the residential part of Bucktown. Watch for permit only signs though.

After show, Flash Taco around the corner is the place to be.

Yippee.

I need to vent (re: Simon and Garfunkel)

I need to vent. I have just been simultaneously crushed and enraged, and because of the crushing, there is no where for the rage to go except the internet. Anyway, like many of you, I was filled with joy and hope when I heard that Simon and Garfunkel are reuniting and tour dates are posted. Was I re...

Yeah, if I understand you question, you could do each band as its own calendar and share the same way. Was that what you were asking? I'm happy to do it and to maintain it until Apple charges so much for .Mac that I can't afford to anymore. ha. Seriously, it's my pleasure, it was a good idea. And I...

Done and done. I'd be happy to do that. Making this one I not only finally learned how to spell Houston correctly, but I gained new respect for the touring bands...what a grueling schedule. This probably shows my age, but when I was little I was angry with my toys because they did not come to life like on Raggedy Ann and Andy. I was really nice to them all the time, just in case.

Nowadays, if they came to life, I would be like, "Too little, too late, babe. Talk to the Hand."
