Re: Recording your own music

What wrong things are happening? The wrong things happening are that the sound coming from the playback doesn't sound anything like any of the albums I've heard, even albums that were made poorly. It almost sounds like someone just recorded the vocals on a handheld tape recorder. All of the other i...

Re: Recording your own music

for basic recording (I'm now using Cubase 4 for big projects), I've always loved Audacity ( http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ ), a great little recording program with nice digital effects built in if you want to add reverb, delay, distortion, tremelo, etc to guitar parts. Also really quite intuitive...

Recording your own music

I've started recording music on my computer and I'm having a little trouble getting a "good" sound. My current setup is: A guitar plugged into an amp. One output goes to the speaker cabinet, the other goes into a 4-track recorder. A microphone pulgged into a guitar amp. The headphone jack connects t...

I haven't stopped by in a while, and I find it a little ironic that all week at work I've been analyzing Hotel California, wondering the the narrator dies on his bike or actually just pulls over.

Re: Recent Purchases (a photo thread)!

just a regular Civic... at 36 mpg normally, it seemed a little silly to pay 5,000 more for 5-10 extra mpg. Yeah I made the same decision last year. this is my 3rd civic. kinda miss that old 86 hatchback. it was like driving a school lunch milk carton. very cute. Funny this should be the topic. Toda...

Re: guitar tabs

I came here just to say how much I love the nuances of John's playing. Sure, you can read the "chords" to Teaspoon but it doesn't capture the accent notes, the groove, and the little voicings that give it such character. The verse riff is just awesome. And I can't play it at all. Ha. I couldn't fin...

Re: DCFC Video: Grapevine Fires

I guess in a freeze frame like that it's not as much. Still, that was cool for a minute. Bands should do cameo's in other band's videos all the time.

DCFC Video: Grapevine Fires

To any of you who have seen the music video, does the band packing their things into the van look like the Long Winters to you?

Seeing how I live in Detroit, I'd pay about a hundred to see this.

Re: We have politics in Canada, too!

On a scale of 1 to 10, what is the possibility of the Canadian government degenerating into a backstabbing bunch of political parties?

I played a Jag once. There were about a million little knobs and switches on it. To each his own, but I'll just stick to my SG.
