Meeting the Band

Postby lotsofblackflags » Mon Jul 19, 2004 4:03 am

So, who here has acually met the guys? I met them here in San Sebastian, Spain (where I live), and they were really cool. Anyone else ever met them? Share your stories.

I interviewed Jon last month in Los Angeles. Super great guy. Friendly and down to Earth. We need more like him.

i don't know who here hasn't met them. i think most people have by now...meaning they really get around. ;)
so that means i've met them too but i'm gonna spare the stories cuz there's many and they're long and i think many people here have already heard them so i know the groaning would commence of "not again". :)

Who here has been scratched, pet, or had their ears rubbed by the Long Winters?

On second thought who hasn't?

I too have met all incarnations of The Long Winters. Some of the nicest fellows in indie rock methinks.

oh wait, i want to add:

one of the cutest occurences during my stint of living with stephanie, had to have been us coming home to an answering machine message from john, yelling, "HI! THIS IS JOHN RODERICK. YOU KNOW, THE SINGER, FROM THE LONG WINTERS?"

ohh, back in the day. before they had a message board with 500+ registered fans. *sigh*

you haven't lived until you're standing in the crowd, being heckled by j.rod, all the while having a gusher of a bloody nose.

They keep trying to meet ME, actually, but I'm cleverly eluding them with a series of one-off day trips. Genius!

ps: Since you live in San Sebastian, do I get to ask you if you've met Ibon Errazkin? eeeeeeeeeeee! He's dreamy.

EDIT: Wait a second. You could BE Ibon. uhoh...

I think he's referring to the time when you tried to set his liver on fire. That's definitely not what we mean when we call you a "hep cat".
