Tour Sept 8th

Postby junker347 » Tue Jul 04, 2006 7:35 pm

The front page has been updated and says the tour begins 9/8. I pray to all the powers that be that this tour starts on the east coast, but somehow i severely doubt it :(

I wouldn't mind seeing them on the second half of the leg -- after they've worked out all the kinks in their set and road tested some of the songs. Not that I would be opposed to seeing them at any (or many) points during the tour, of course. As long as they don't forget to come to Toronto.

EDIT: Rumour has it (heh) that there's some super secret preview shows in the next couple of months. I wouldn't mind hitting those up, for shizzle.

I would be much obliged if I could see them again. They were amazing when I saw them open for Keane.

Midwest dates are good....
Iowa City gigs are better... come back to the motherland. The Mill is fully repaired from the tornado and itching for rock.

Well, hi. Long time no see.

Listening to the new record right now and LOVING it. It's exactly what I've been waiting for without knowing it.

Looks like once again, ACL is my only shot at a LW show. And a slim shot it is, too. After getting a week off for Athfest, I seriously doubt I can make ACL without first winning the lottery. Poop.

Somehow, someway, someday, I will see my 2nd LW show. Watch it happen.

I can't believe I've been gone all this time and you people are still on about animal matchups. Hee. Heehee.

Hmmmm...I'll sit on my hands waiting for a slew of Chicago gigs for the autumn. Hear that, John? A slew! You know you want to tour the entirety of Illinois. :)

that's no rumour, but officially secretly announced in a LW newsgroup e-mail:
http://www.mammothpress.com/index.php?area=bands&band=longwinters

Our new record, called Putting the Days to Bed, is available for you to
listen to, all the way through, for free. The official release date is
July 25th, but we want you to hear it before that. Follow the link
above.

We're going to be playing some secret special shows in certain cities
in the next couple of months, and we promise to let you know in
advance. Also, we'll be touring in September and October, playing
shows that AREN'T secret, but will still be very special.

love
TLW

i don't think it's THAT secret, moni.

Athens, GA—Team Clermont has announced the dates and lineup of its annual Summer Festival and Blue Ribbon Ball, marking the ninth year of the company’s operation. The Summer Festival celebration is a music festival that showcases artists on Team Clermont’s client roster, both national and local, over the course of three nights.

Saturday, August 5th—Happy Hour
sponsored by Barsuk Records—the Go! Bar, Athens, GA

John Roderick of the Long Winters—A special solo performance in an intimate setting from one of indie rock’s most distinctive voices. This will be a Happy Hour warm-up for “The Prom” to come. Alaska-raised Roderick’s wistful pop songs are marvels of catchiness and emotional complexity. Roderick will be playing songs from the forthcoming Long Winters LP, Putting the Days to Bed.

free entry, what more can one want (except living closer to Athens GA, perhaps)
