pre-orders taken for Putting the Days to Bed

Post by Liesbeth »

yippee dee yay, yay, yay, Barsuk says the word:

The Long Winters' putting the days to bed is available for pre-orders now.

*** Your pre-order includes the next 4 issues of Paste magazine, including Paste's awesome CD samplers (an $11.95 value). Good for US ORDERS ONLY. ***

i would make a bitchy remark about the US bias of it all, but instead i'm just gonna be glad it's nearly out there.
did i mention yet how good it is??

Order in...hopefully it ships out nice and early (Forrest, I know you must have some magic powers :)
As to how long the pre-order lasts...probably until the release day--at which point it'll just become a regular order [/smartass]. And don't ya know it's important to memorize your card # and expiration date so you can order crap online without having to find the card :)

The mini subscription deal with Paste is available through 7/25. As far as early orders go, they have to be cleared on an individual basis though John, so I encourage you to bug him about it daily.

If you send me an early copy, I might forgive you for stealing that LW DVD I sent to John. :p

My order is SO in, it HURTS. Maybe that's just the anticipation of its arrival.

I really don't like lowering myself to the level of begging, but I suppose these might be special circumstances...pleeeeeaassse John, hookup a fellow ex-zag with an early cd (that'll either get me bonus points or a permanent black mark, who knows...). And I'll poster/promote any upcoming gigs in Albuquerque. And I'll make all my friends listen and harass them to buy it. And I'll love you forever. And I'll play it in the lab and convince my coworkers that they like it. And I'll only say nice things about the new record, the band, beards, glasses and winters in general. And it would make my week :)

too much? :)

My bank cancelled my card. Guess I pissed them off. No preordery goodness for me. Still meaning to double-check that I will be able to buy the thing here next Tuesday. Damn job. Damn summer hours at the record store.

If there is a gig in Albuquerque, I am so there, with friends. Don't care when. I have been given advice on where to play there (and where not to), but I'm sure the new girl knows at least as much on the subject.

Love! This! Record!!

Since I live in Canada, I have no real reason to pre-order. Unless a certain Barsuk employee who frequents this board wanted to throw in some extra stickers or something? ;)

That's what I always loved about Barsuk -- the free stickers and goodies that come with each order. It has really encouraged me to wait that seemingly never-ending shipping times between nations in place of going to the local HMV and buying a copy of the album on release date. I'm a sucker for freeb's.

The New Record

Post by bubbamo »

well I have been tuning in to all of the anticipation and conversation
about " Putting the Days to Bed " I have had my promo copy for quite a
while now. But I didn't want to color anyone's opinion of the record
so I have chosen to listen to it by myself and not comment at all on the
subject, but I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE !!!
This is another great record !! A real rocker that in my opinion has
the LW's primed for total global domination !! The best songwrting to
date, and I must say a masterful effort of production .

Does this one remind any of you of REM or The Replacements ??
is it just me ??

A fine tip o' the hat to J-Rod and the boys, and by the way they
are coming to a theatre near you . So don't delay order now !!

Peaceouthomies !!!

I have finally been assured that my copy of PtDtB will be ready for my snatching-up at Guestroom Records on Tuesday. Phew.

Don't know about the comparison thing, but it is an awesome record. I can't wait till I can listen to it away from this machine!
Is this thing perfect for a road trip or what??

I don't know your real name, but if you leave ask for stickers in the "user comment" field, you'll get some stickers.

Oh, you will get stickers.
