It didn't really have to happen, but...PTDTB favorite line?

Talk about the band, the records, the shows.

No poll, 'cause that would be way too many options...

Mine is 'a kiss away from being dangerous'. In fact, I sort of put it in my sig elsewhere. How much do I owe in royalties, then?

I'm quite fond of "Tall orders from such small shoulders" (which is a real tongue twister by the way) and "I know that crime doesn't pay, but I don't know any other way"

So far (and this is mostly just on the music-level, not the search for deeper meaning-level), I can't get these out of my head:
"She calls me the alpha-bad guy"
"If I kiss you now like sun streaming in a tavern's door would you wonder what I'm kissing you for?"
"You never told me your secrets, so I guess they stay safe with me"
(and most of Hindsight, honestly)
"Your magic beans mean at least you'll have one giant friend"

I think I could pick at least one line from each song that I really enjoy, but that feels like cheating (even more than picking 4 'favorites' does :)

"well I stopped.
but how can I really stop
and stay stopped?"
-Seven

"if I hold you now will I be holding a snowball
when the season changes and I'm craving the sun?"

Damn, Forrest...I saw that you'd posted here, and I thought for sure I'd have the answer to my royalty-question.
Some greedy-record-company-villain you are!

Erm, did you have the record when you posted this? Mine says 'alphabet gun'. The record and the liner notes.

Is it time for a misheard-PtDtB-lyrics-thread already??
(I heard 'it's so right to be a singer' and 'you laid your suitcase down' the first few times, so I'm not trying to act superior or anything.)

Guilty...the line didn't catch my attention for a couple days, at which point the liner notes were safely tucked back into the cd case, so I never went back and looked (and because I thought/think "alpha-bad guy" fits...and sounds cool). Oh well, it's not like it's the first line I've gotten wrong :)

I'm still singing "wish me love" and will continue to do so despite all evidence to the contrary.

ps: someone should really start a "favorite non el dubs lyrics" thread in the catty. it'd be tops.

ok it's definitely "a kiss away from being dangerous" or "a false prophesy doesn't mean prophecies are true" (clouds is my new fave)

- is your high horse getting a little hard to ride
- and there's nothing left to eat in this house but your heart
from Rich Wife

- did you say what you wanted said
- if you're trying to feel the wind, well that's a window your pressed against
- are you still training for the big race by hoping the runners will die
and at least half a dozen more from Hindsight, several of which have been mentioned here already

although I wouldn't choose any as fave line, I really love the lyrics for Departure as well - they're so good for singing along loud.

I figure it's a way of calling someone either verbose or eloquent. Taunt or compliment. Hard to tell which. Of course.
