I didn't know about it until today when I saw a couple copies in Sonic Boom.

This is totally wonderful if it's true.

I had heard there was supposed to be some sort of slipcase for all of the LPs...sort of a boxed-set situation.

Is that out yet?

So who has picked this up? Any thoughts?

Any truth to the rumor of the 'boxed set'?

There will indeed be a box set. John talked about it at the Chapel Hill show and I heard it from Nabil himself, so it's for serious!

Guess I'll wait until then, whenever that will be.

mmm, box set.
better start saving some money, that's a must-have. I've said it before and I'll say it again: to have the Pretend to Fall sleeve in full 12" would be just magic. Oh, I'd say the Ultimatum sleeve looks really good in bigger size also.
I'm drooling, no shit!

so when Sour mentioned bonustrack on the Ultimatum vinyl, that warranted some serious investigation. The

The website of the Control Group (Nabil's label) doesn't list any of the records yet, but Acoustic Sounds lists the following for Ultimatum:
The Commander Thinks Aloud
Ultimatum
Everything Is Talking
Delicate Hands
Fire Island, AK (Susitna Demo)
It's a Departure (Version 1.0)
Clouds (Home Demo)
Seven (Litho Demo)
Bride and Bridle (Live Acoustic)
Ultimatum (Live Acoustic)

Everything about this record screams that it should be available at the merch table on the European tour! I'm tempted to order it, but what with international postage, it would be wise to await news about a box set, I guess. It sucks being wise.

Alright...here's the official deal.

Utimatum EP on Vinyl sold out in Toronto. More would be shipped to the band on the road, but not for a few days. I imagine if they don't have them now, they will any day. There should be plenty for Europe.

That is the tracklisting, now that I'm looking at it. It's very exciting.

If you purchase all the vinyl records prior to the box set release, Nabil will ship you the cardboard box. Just say please.

Canadian prices were $15 a disc on all records, excepting $20 for the two-lp version of WIPTF. Since the US and Canadian $ are pretty equal these days, I wouldn't imagine there's a great difference in the US pricing.

The sleeves and art looked great, from what I could see, but WIPTF didn't have that soft, fuzzy paper like the cd version. Alas. WIPTF was pressed on 160g vinyl, IIRC, while the others weren't labelled.

And that's all I know, because I didn't have enough money to buy them all.

ah, there may be enough copies, but they might not be able to bring them with them to Europe, costwise. In large quantities anyway, although 4 records for me should be feasible, in a suitcase? I think I will take some action to this effect, pronto.

I think they usually have merchandise shipped overseas, and then pick it up when they arrive. I believe that's usually how international tours are done...

That may be true for t-shirts, but if cds are released by a European label bands generally get them from there, not ship them ahead. And vinyl is heavy to send by plane. I dare say that interested Europeans will need to give a little shout out to let the band know there's a market for vinyl in the old world too.

We just got all of the records and the gold-foil stamped boxes for the complete sets from Control Group today.

Should be up on the Barsuk site shortly.

Maybe I'll post a few pictures if I have time.
