show november 30th

Post by serena »

Hi, I'm going to be visiting Seattle in late November and wanted to catch the Long Winters show on 11/30, which is supposed to be at the University of Washington. I've never been to Seattle and am staying downtown; can someone please tell me how to find the University (and where within the University they're playing)? Thanks!

the show is in the HUB in the 3rd floor ballroom, i believe. HUB stands for Husky Union Building. the university is in the northeast part of seattle, directly east of I-5. it's not too hard to find. hope this helps.

serena, public transportation in Seattle is definitely not ideal, but it does exist and it would be cheaper than grabbing a taxi from downtown to the U-District.
http://tripplanner.metrokc.gov/cgi-bin/itin_page.pl is a website that can help you plan your bus route.
The website will ask you "Where does your trip end?" and I would recommend typing NE Campus Pkwy & Brooklyn-BAY 1 or 43rd & University Way as these I believe is the closest stop the downtown buses make to UW. UW will be just east from these stops, though being that Seattle is a foreign city your orientation will be probably be off, but if it helps any the water will be to your west. Look on the campus maps that are avaliable on their website, which chelsea provided a link to.
Good luck and have fun!

Based upon the information found on ticketwest.com, the show is $16 and starts at 8pm.

Has anyone flashed the "Longhorns Batsignal" for this show?

You know, to give Jonathan a rest on playing the sampled horns on the keys...might be pretty cool.

I've been cursing my luck ever since I heard about this show. My girlfriend and I were back home in WA from Monday until last night; we flew back one day too soon!

Hopefully they come back to SF in the very near future.

I completely forgot about this show until yesterday when my friend asked me what time I was leaving for it. I have lost all sense of time recently. There's like 30 days left in this year, did you know that? It is crazy crazy times!

The weather makes me not want to leave the house. I have fears of becoming popsicle girl tonight. I am cold right now, I am. But I will brave the cold, I will.

the show was great, my gal got a nifty kazoo and a t-shirt. my brain was still spinning on school stuff and final project deadline stress. Though physically i was present, i was spending far too much time trying to keep my mind in the moment, and not get distracted about the next tweak on my project of the moment. still, i chatted with another friendly photographer i met at the bbq, and my family had a great time enjoying the short set. hope the holiday "west and wewaxation" our boys are due, is now a realistic possibility. in my mind, it was well earned. (;-D)
