Was it Hot Ashes?

...I tried to do some detective work and follow links from comments on the other band's MySpace...

Hot Ashes

That's them, all right. Their slow song gave me intestinal cramps. They should come with a health warning.

The Water Rats show was amazing. Awful support bands though, seems to be a theme of this tour? Anyone else there? Curse that damn curfew, I didn't get to hear Stupid or Scared Straight! Next time...
Setlist was all requests (I think in this order):
Fire Island
Teaspoon
Hindsight
Seven
Carparts
Pushover
Blue Diamonds
Commander Thinks Aloud
Rich Wife
Cinnamon
Shapes
Honest
Sky is Open
(It's A) Departure
Ultimatum
New Girl

Thanks John & the guys for such a great show, and for playing Carparts when I asked! Can't wait for the next London show, please make it soon...

I know, I should be grateful (and I am!!) I shouted for New Girl a lot and right at the end John asked Jonathon what he wanted to play last, so I got my wish :-D

IMPORTANT:
Has there been banter in the non-english speaking country dates, given the possible language barriers? i'm very concerned I won't get my good dose of banter... maybe I'll request banter.

Absolutely, but since most Europeans don't speak any english, most of the banter comes in sign language :)

I can confirm -- language barriers are no obstacle for Monsieur Roderick. When I saw TLW in Montreal some years ago, he spoke and spoke and spoke and spoke.

No offense Jay, but I expect a lot more people in Montreal to speak English than I do here in Spain ;p... that was one of the things that surprised me most getting here, is that a fair amount of the population doesn't speak English... tho I guess most of the show-going youth will a bit like the other students I've met..

You'd be surprised at the number of militant French in Montreal who hate us self-centered anglophones with every breath in their body. But yeah -- there's probably significantly more English there than Spain. Just giving my experience.
