Seattle Showbox 2007 / 04 / 14 Set List

Post by etreewin »

From the written set list

Scared Straight (w/ the Longhorns)
Fire Island
Stupid
Scent of Lime
Rich Wife
Unsalted
Sky is Open
Clouds
Seven
cinnamon
(horns come on for 4 or 5 songs somewhere in here)
carparts
Honest
Blue Diamonds
Teaspoon
Departure
Commander
Pushover
New Girl
Nora
Feeling Stronger Everyday (Chicago) (with Longhorns)

Ben Gibbard played drums on one song; Cinnamon had a guest female singer. Nora might not have been played. This is the written set list - not necessarily what was played. Need to listen to the show to double check. Entire show clocked about 1 hr 55 mins.

Audio and Video of the show was recorded, potentially for DVD release.

Hindsight was played instead of Nora.
Longhorns came back after Carparts.

Edit: I forgot to say how awesome it was. Such a good show. Totally worth the fact that I am dying at work today.

it was a lovely show indeed, though i don't think john was kidding when he said that being in front of a "big" audience in the showbox was throwing his banter off a little...just a little.

edit: it was "carparts" that ben gibbard played drums on, of course!

Teaspoon also had the keyboard player from the Broken West on trumpet as he did in Portland.

etreewin, that setlist is most certainly in my handwriting...enjoy!

I believe there as also another cover played in the latter part of the set, it was Aerosmith from what I recall John saying, though pardon my ignorance for not being too familiar with Aerosmith.

Also a little side note... the show was amazing! I loved how one could feel the wooden floors vibrating from everyone dancing during Fire Island.

written setlists, who knew they would return someday... if you could take a photo, it would make me a very happy librarian!

edit: so did they finally manage to play the whole Aerosmith song, or was it a tease/Beastie Boys thing like in Portland (and also in Newport, KY!)

The unfortunate byproduct of a production crew.

Not only do you have a very nice and readable handwriting, you also used different colors--that's so geeky!

the aerosmith cover wasn't actually a cover per se. the music was sweet emotion but the lyrics i don't know where they came from. i was guessing it was something john had made up. whatever it was was freakin awesome!

As much as I love Hindsight (and I really do), I would never trade it for Nora. Otherwise, looks like a great time was had.

Well, the only reason I used different colors is I forgot to include the horn notes on the photocopied setlists (which were written in blue). Whoops! But, yes, it is delightfully geeky as well.

I would've preferred Nora, but only slightly. It also would have been nice to see Delicate Hands, but oh well. I really have no complaints, it was a great show. It was the first time I enjoyed the Winters from a distance. This horrible cold I have did not give me the stamina to be able to stand all night, so I sat in the back. I bought a t-shirt for myself and the girlfriend, and a kazoo, which left me just short of the cash to buy one of the nifty tour posters.

As for the Aerosmith cover thing, it sounded like John was rapping something...but I really have no idea what.
