sleep rock.. yes. very mellow. well, sean calls it "mope rock"
i guess the only thing it would have to do with the LW is nothing at all, aside from sean being a mutual friend of myself and roderick, if that counts for anything.
but christ, its not like anyone else posts in here, i figured being off topic wouldn't kill us!

it's not that it *exactly* kills anyone, it's just that when I see something posted in Give Me a Moment and I cannot find a link to the LW, I think I have missed something. You do not want to make me think I've lost touch with all things LW, do you?
besides, somehow I keep thinking Kenny G instead of Andrew Kenny, which is my problem entirely, but very distracting nonetheless.

here's the link. andrew kenny is the songwriter for american analog set. he's shared a release with ben gibbard. and the vibraphone player for american analog set laid down the vibes track on nora. i think it's pretty a-ok for h4ck to post about his show on this board.
american analog set are great. 'promise of love' slays... in a totally mellow way.

I don't know if just a song can be a degree...
Then I could say that I've seen John and Kevin Bacon on Youtube, so it's only 2 degrees...
Here's another one:
JohnRoderick was in Harvey Danger
Harvey Danger Did a video for "Sad Sweetheart Of The Rodeo (wa-hooooooo-ooh)
Ione Skye starred in that video, and in "Say Anything"
Lili Taylor who was in the same movie, was in "She's having A Baby", with
KEVIN BACON!!!
4 degrees, and a double bonus for including a movie that took place in Seattle!!!

Of course it can. His voice is featured on celluloid. If you discount that, you have to discount any animated feature where the star isn't seen, but only heard.Harvey Winters wrote:I don't know if just a song can be a degree...
The YouTube option, however, is about the equivalent of saying "I like them both", or "I've seen both of them in movies." Obviously doesn't count. :p

I don't mind a song being used as a degree, but personally I don't think a few seconds of a LW song in a tv commercial for a film counts as a degree (I just realised that that soundtrack is not in the Library, and the reason for that is that Land Of Women itself didn't have a LW song in it, nor the soundtrack or the movie trailer). I'd say the song has to be used in the actual film to count.

If you could indulge me I thought I would post something gushing about American Analog Set.
I really think they are a band that has been criminally overlooked. I think Barsuk or someone needs to pick up on Andrew Kenny It's magnificent stuff. Anyone who hasn;t heard it should get a hold of "Known By Heart". Its a classic. And Ben Gibbard sings on it (just to keep things linked).
