I had that same thought on my way to work today.

Is this still happening? If so, how about some other Euro countries, like Holland/Netherlands (circle applicable) or Germany? Both awesome countries to visit in September. Seriously.

I'm assuming the band isn't providing train tickets and lodging for all fans, no?

Otherwise, I shotgun a room with Jason and Monika.

And like I said (in my very own grammatically challenged way), I totally intend to make this roadtrip (only to intentionally not follow through). How about the mideastern-axis-boys?

sooooo.......awesome night!

Setlist, 100% accurate except for a quick little "classic rock" jam that i dont remember, and john singing a line from REM.

give me a moment
clouds
stupid
teaspoon
cinnamon
scared straight
commander
blue diamonds
fire island
honest
hindsight
pushover
carparts
shapes
sound of coming down
ultimatum (acoustic)

really on, john sounded great, everyone was awesome, and john (testing your board presence here) i hope the 20 bucks i had on me covered everything, let me know if not and i'll buy the next time you're in town.

Nice setlist! Sounds like a good time! How was the crowd / venue / sound / Nabil's mustache?

haven't popped in here in years, but was inspired by last night. leaving long winters shows always puts me in the best mood for days after. the show was great, as usual, with the downside being that the castle clinton folk set up chairs and insisted on no dancing in the aisles. not that nyc folks are always the best at having fun and dancing anyway, but it would have been nice to not be restricted to the plastic chairs...besides that the park was beautiful.

the sound sucked for the first two songs and then it got a lot better but shhh, we wasn't supposed to mention the first two.

two things:

1. i kept seeing very young looking girls, like 15 or 16. at 23, i suppose i'm not allowed to talk about "young girls" yet, but it struck me as odd. i think at 15 i was alone in my room listening to nine inch nails while painting my finger nails black...

2. i really got a big kick out of john's reference to "fashion shows on a&e." i think he's confused.

effective. complimented his triangular-shaped chops quite well, and the glasses certainly didn't hurt either.

and his drumming was on.

I know I'm a little late to chime in on this one, but for what it's worth, it sounded great in the back row next to the mixer. Great crowd, the no dancing thing was a bit weird though. And I had a moment of panic when the amp thing started happening at the beginning of the show, but all in all, fantastic performance on a beautiful NYC evening.
