July 4th 107.7 The End Beach House Show

Postby NatureBoy » Wed Jun 25, 2008 4:12 pm

So says their website. 7pm.

Not sure exactly what this is about, as I'm not a regular listener to The End. It looks like something that people can go to, and could be simulcast on the radio.

I don't have any plans for 4th of July. Would this be cool or would it suck?

Their website does not inspire confidence.

However, anything is made better with the potential of drunks and explosives.

i just opened that endmail and checked here to see if it was posted....sure 'nuff! :)

i looked into one of these last year and to my knowledge you just show up. i think since it's on a beach you just hang out on it around the house where the broadcast is from.

if we're in town i would totally consider it but i tend to try to stay away from seattle on the 4th. CA-RAZY!

somehow beach doesn't really fit into my idea of Seattle. Is there really any?

By the way, it might be Firefox, but although that website of The End looks really Flash, I could only find a date and a time, nothing whatsoever about the event. Anyone have any info that elaborates beyond Long Winters 7pm?

Not that 7pm is any good from a Central European Time point of view, that's truly middle of the night. IF it gets broadcast, that is.

since no one helped me out here, I did some research and yes, this looks like bonafide beach to me

Not a bad location for a beach party. According to Facebook, the Long Winters share an all-ages bill with End A Roke and Saturday Nights. Show starts at 5pm, the Long Winters will take the stage around 7pm.

we do have beaches (really!), though i have a strong feeling that the end's "beach house" is just a house/building across the street from the beach.

Alki (along with Golden Gardens) are about as beachy as it gets within Seattle City limits. There *is* sand, but much of it is pebbles and rocks, and Alki especially tends to be pretty overloaded with seaweed. In addition to hosting beach parties, Alki was the the original location of "Seattle", and "Alki" is the state motto of Washington; it means "by and by"... not sure how well that one translates.

I just want to say that their site crashed both Firefox 3 and IE7. The only thing I could get to open it was an old, no-longer supported Mozilla browser. :S

Seriously, I couldn't find where it said TLW were playing! Oh well, I don't think I could go anyway.

You have to click on the calendar, and then click on the date. Pretty annoying -- you have to know exactly when they're playing to know they're playing at all! LAME!
