Le Poisson Rouge videos

Postby h4ck » Fri Mar 26, 2010 6:11 am

I took a couple videos, both new songs.. the first "Not Moving to Portland" i just uploaded to youtube for y'all.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tz0o5k8kq90

The second is a new song "Connections in Nashville" which will go up when i get John's blessing, he said to sit on it for now.

The third is the final song they played, which was John, Wes, Langhorne Slim, Freedy Johnston, and Eugene Mirman backed by the English UK.

Bowie. Modern Love.

really amazing show, Sarah Vowell kills me, i always loved her in this american life.

Eugene Mirman was hilarious as usual too.

Thanks John!

Are there any new songs that don't have the title of an American city in their name? Or is this the Long Winters' travelogue album?

Thank you for posting these videos; they are great!! (by the way, John = always great hats!)

Here's one of JR singing backing vocals on "What Is Your Secret", it's a little out of sync unfortunately.

I got my fingers crossed for a song about the wild wonders of Liechtenstein.

no probs! yeah, the "2 item minimum" was no deterrent for me to get right up front. i <3 seated venues. only downside really was the sheet music stand that was kinda right in front of me to my left. otherwise a-ok.

i probably shouldn't have mentioned the other song.. i know how much it sucks to wait like that :/

awesome video of nada surf! i really wanted to get to that show, but getting an apartment, moving, and buying every single item i could possibly need in an apartment was taxing on the ol' bank account.

You should have said something. I would've paypal'd you some money for a ticket if you'd promised to tape both JR's and Nada Surf's set. ;)

It is good to know that new songs are surfacing, so I'm glad you mentioned it. Now all we need to wait for is that album coming out, how hard can that be? Sob.

well, it sold out before i knew about it.. only reason i knew of the show @ le poisson rouge was from facebook..and the only reason i went was cause he listed me
however, you've just reminded me that i need to buy a new recorder.

gotta see what the latest greatest is.

Bummer. But thumbs up for being listed and making one of the shows. I saw Nada Surf last night! Fantastic! I have 720p HD videos and a half-decent audio recording I'm working on EQing right now.

I desperately need an equipment update too. Been using the same MD recorder for years. So many options, but price varies wildly and I don't go to shows as often as I used to. :S

I did back ups on What is your Secret and Your Legs Grow, and came back for I fought the Law. It's alright with me if H4ck posts the new song, Connections in Nashville, as long as we keep it a secret just for the boardies. It's brand new, not finished, awkward, etc. But for you guys, anything.

I would like to run wild with this now. Anything? REALLY?!??! I have a room that needs painting and hardwood flooring that needs completing. And maybe some shelves hung. Oh and could you frame my LW posters for me? I have the frames already but the posters still haven't made their way into the frames. Sooooooo how 'bout that?

If it's for us only, we have the option of putting it on YouTube and naming it something ridiculous, or h4ck can upload it elsewhere. Let me know, buddy, if you want to upload it to HaterHigh, and I'll post a secret link here. Thanks, JR! :)

arright, y'all probably have fast-ish or fast-enough internet access to cope.. its about 164 megs or so. if its REALLY that much a pain or too big.. let me know and i can try to do something with it.

also, watch them in sequence.. portland then connections in nashville to get the whole story in between.
