We may be bitchin' about not getting to see the band enough, but Australia is really never getting any live love, so I can imagine how exciting it is to move so close. Would love to hear your review on the show(s)

THANK YOU.

This video is picture proof that Through With Love needs to become a Long Winters staple.

Yes yes yes, but Galaxy's End? Holy shit. I wanna marry that song and have many, many little space-travel songs with it.

(was that metaphor too disturbing?)

Before playing the song, John said he was somewhat conflicted about it. He said it's about 50% good. He thinks there's something not quite right with the other 50%. That's what his comments at the end of the clip are about. I love the song so I wonder what part doesn't work for him.

I know. I actually actively listened to that recording to hear what part of that song is less than good. Came up with absolutely nothing.

from thelongwinters.com
You may wonder who these special guests are who will join John Roderick at The Triple Door on Saturday. All the way from Toronto, Canada, Kathleen Edwards will make an appearance. And opening the show will be California-based singer El May. More guests may be announced the next days, so keep an eye out here and on John's Twitter page. But do note that not all guests will be revealed beforehand.

oh, and Copernicus is now on the website, for those of you who were too lazy to register or log in to the Treehouse, or who are such big shots in some government that they simply cannot leave their details on just any old site like this.

According to Kathleen Edwards' Facebook, the show was cancelled due to a burst water main at the Triple Door. Very unfortunate.

Yup, the triple door called to tell me that it was cancelled which I thought was very nice of them and they refunded my money. Serious bummer tho.

Yeah, I got the phone call a little too late. We showed up and they told us. I have to say though, I was really impressed with how the Triple Door staff handled it. They gave both my fiancee and I a free drink, and a coupon for two free tickets to an upcoming show between now and November. They were also able to transfer my tickets to the September 30th show. Major bummer that the show had to be canceled, but thanks to the Triple Door staff!

Looks like they handled a horrible situation with class. Thumbs up to the Triple Door, but thumbs down to bad timing.

this is such a shame, sounded like a very special show. Very sorry for those who traveled far, like our friend from Vancouver, and Kathleen Edwards of course. I for one sure am glad I didn't plan my trip around this, I'm not sure I would have handled my disappointment very well.

I'm a bit glad that Kathleen Edwards didn't call and tell me she had room for me in her luggage, although I'm sure hearing the soundcheck alone would have been worth the trip.

Sad Squid.
Forlorn Squid.
Cephalopod of the Nephilim.
Squidigoth.

Yes, I thought for a brief second that I was going to get to attend this rescheduled show. And then?
*poof*
Just like my dreams of an Aestheticians License. (I feel pretty.)

Guess what that means, pumpkins? REPORTS. I want them. They should be long and precise and composed of roughly 75% muso hyperbole, 20% fact, 5% andouille sausage.

Don't disappoint, please. It's my heart we're talking about here. (Ouch.)
