The "Blue Diamonds" video..

Post by stephanie »

..can be found right here.

What'd you think?

I've yet to see it myself, but in querying to my online peeps to describe it as best they could, my imagination is running rampant.
There are subtitles, or so I've been told? Swordfighting? And something with ice cream?

It's very cute, I especially like the bit where the little girls whack John like a piñata.

I feel that I shld. be the one to make a video for "Cinnamon" though. I have a great concept involving a convertible, a road trip, and squibs. (:

Ok, I think I might go nuts now...I can't get the video to play!!! www.mtv.com makes you download some "Real Player", or some garbage like that.....do you know where else I might find this most definitely godlike video?

Is that the SAM show I see bits of?

I think maybe yes.

Very fun! Favorite images: pinata at the end and the look on Sean's face while he eats ice cream. Nice.

I do wonder if it's by contractural obligation or just preference that John seems to end up tied-up in every video he's in.

This could become his video trademark--like George Michael and his butt.

i'm officially boycotting this thing from any further attempts at viewing until somebody manages to get the damn thing available for download. i mean, i broke my no-way-will-i-download-realplayer for the long winters and then i got fucked over by some sort of surge in network traffic (surely meant for the long winters video) that makes it impossible, time and time again, to view the video.

oh, and i really want to see the video for "jonathan fisk" by spoon, but i can't get that thing to play either.

stupid mtv. this is why everything needs to be put in quicktime format, available for everyone to download!

that said, is anyone up for the task? merlin? grant? anyone?

Great video.

I only become aware of The Long Winters a few months ago. From Merlin's comment I take it that there were previous videos. If so, what were they and is there anywhere that I could find them?

Will the band be marketing a line of ice cream bars?

I don't think there are any other Long Winters videos, but, in a previous life, John played keys in Sean's swell old band--and got tied up by Ione Skye at the end of the video for "Sad Sweetheart of the Rodeo." Tough break, eh?

Great video:

Best part: Sean's ridiculous hat. Because he's not tall ENOUGH.

I guess either grant or miss michaela dee will have to give us a Lacan film crit on that matter (Bellour might be more appropriate here but who really wants that...)

Apart from that: I demand a sequel! (with guest appearance by Merlin maybe? Yes?)

If someone gets the heads up on an MTV airing, let us all know date and time. We will watch it. Record it. Watch it some more. And more. And play it over The Wizard of Oz.
