Uh... count me in.

I will be wearing.... clothes.

We could form a LW message board cheering section or something in the SkyChurch.

Cheer section! That would be really cool since some people just stand there and stare off into shows. Suckers.

Well Im not going.. I'm in Houston.

*sigh* Unfortunately, I will not. There are multiple reasons, including (but not limited to) lack of cash, work, car problems, and homework. So it looks like my streak of going to every all-ages The Long Winters show in the state of Washington since last September will come to an end. Oh well, I guess there's always the Spokane show...unless it's sold out allready...hmmmmm...

An interesting post-script to my previous post, I cannot go to see the LW today because I traded a shift at work with someone so that I didn't have to work on Sunday. Why would I do that? I wanted to spend time with my girlfriend, which is hard to do since we often have conflicting work scheduals. Well, we did spend quality time together on Sunday, but she used that time to break up with me. Goddamnit. So now I'm working on Labor Day, missing TLW, and single. Damn...[/vent]

I'm still buzzing from the show tonight, but I think I can speak rationally...what a great show! And a great turnout! I was so happy to see familiar faces and new people alike feeling the music.

I *loved* the Cinamon Girl interlude in Cinamon...

I was the guy in the blue ringed white shirt who wanted more cowbell! Where was the rest of the board?

Also, is it too early to be talking about bootlegs of this show?

I was the guy who came in a little late cause he was wanted to see the New Pornographers, who were also great. Luckily I could watch TLW on the TV while I waited in line.

One of the best 20 bucks I spent though by far. So many great bands. I had to make many tough decisions today.

Wilco and REM were great too!

Just an overall great day.

What a great show tonite!
I was at the allages at the Croc some weeks ago, also great:
Dragged my friend along... expounding on the brilliance of the LW all the way. She saw. They conquered. She is now in love... another converted. She'll spread the word to her friends down at stanford.
Great job gentlemen, so glad to know your band.

PS i'll have some (crappy digital) pics up on my website in a few days (or, when i figure out how to get them off my friend's crappy digicam)

Agreed, it was a great show. Big stage, pretty/fancy lights...made them look like real rockstars. ;)

I would like to reference this post in regards to that happening. Not to jump to conclusion that it came from me pointing that out, but maybe, just maybe, I gave them an idea. I have to say my jaw hit the floor when they went into that song.

I was front and center a couple people back (behind john's sis and mom), next to the european girl (monika (: ) wearing a white tank top that said "Defend Chicago" in red w/jeans and docs. Oh and I didn't participate in the crowd banter so I wasn't anyone who yelled out anything.

Another rockstar moment I witnessed was John signing all those kids' autographs after the show (packs of cigs, ticket stubs, human flesh).

Personally, I've never understood that phenomenon. A handshake and a sincere thank you is all I've ever done.

Brutaful Smile: I saw you guys with (unmistakably) John's mom and sister, I should have walked over and said hey!

Also: kudos to Sean for getting through the sound level problems with the Nord...must have been so frustrating!

I will NEVER go to Bumbershoot again unless the bands I want to see are on Friday. Just too many people. Sunday was mostly spent in tight-packed crowds, usually behind the large person who had been spending too much time basting in the hot sun and had consumed more cobs of roasted corn than his body could handle.

Why do so many people still not use deodorant?

I didn't see the LWs play...except on the screen outside. I, too, had to see the New Pornographers, and by the time I got to the LWs the line was too long. I should have gone to the LWs initially tho because the sound in the Ex Hall is so awful. Live and learn.

I'm not all gloom. The Shins and Quasi were fantastic on Friday with far fewer stinky bodies.

And finally someone requested Flagpole Sitta.

I loved that moment where everyone in the band was looking at the light show in the back...
Anyway, awesome show! Don't know what else to say without sounding too cheesy, but the American Girl (see above) anfd I had a greayt time!
Med Cab knocked everyone off their socks it seemed.
Nice intro to Bride and Bridle!

Wilco/R.E.M. were good (nice setlist!), but not as good as any of the Euro shows I've seen methinks. and of course i had to wear my REM shirt to the LW show and my LW shirt to the REM show... not that this made any sense or anyone was there to acknowledge this, but... well.

Agreed, it was a great show. Big stage, pretty/fancy lights...made them look like real rockstars. ;)

dont forget the screaming girls and the female attention all around!
