John and SRO Cover The Beatles
John will be appearing with Seattle Rock Orchestra as they perform Rubber Soul and Revolver: http://stgpresents.org/artists/?artist=1717#. This should be a great show. I saw the SRO David Bowie show and it was a lot of fun.
Re: John and SRO Cover The Beatles
Had a fun time at the Beatles show. John did the following three songs from Revolver:
For No One
Doctor Robert (with Sean)
I Want to Tell You
John and Sean also did We Can Work It Out as part of the encore.

What were the arrangements like? Piano?
Re: John and SRO Cover The Beatles
Seattle Rock Orchestra is a full orchestra - strings, horns, percussion, etc. - with some additional electric guitar and bass. I was down front so I didn't get a complete view but there were several dozen people on stage. There's some footage on YouTube of previous shows. The orchestra does its own arrangements, which I imagine must be quite a task with that many instruments.
Edited to add: Here's a short write up in the Seattle Weekly: http://blogs.seattleweekly.com/reverb/2 ... nelson.php . It sounds like the encore portion of Saturday's show was slightly different. The Sunday show ended with John and Sean doing We Can Work it Out. Sean did Paperback Writer by himself earlier in the encore.
Edited again to add: I can't watch them at work but it looks like there's some footage of John from Sunday:

Ooo! Nice!
Re: John and SRO Cover The Beatles
John will once again be performing Beatles songs with SRO: http://stgpresents.org/moore/calendar/e ... he-beatles. This year they will be doing Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt. Pepper's. Not my favorite Beatles albums but average Beatles is still better than most bands. Any bets on what John will be doing this year?

Re: John and SRO Cover The Beatles
must be so cool to perform with an orchestra...
Re: John and SRO Cover The Beatles
Just a quick rundown. John performed with Sean Nelson. I think these are all the songs they did (in no any particular order), but I may have forgotten something:
She's Leaving Home (John on lead)
Penny Lane (Sean on lead)
Strawberry Fields Forever (John)
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds (Sean)
A Day in the Life (John)
I am the Walrus (John)
Lady Madonna (John)
Hey Jude (Sean) - closing song with everyone joining in for the end
Sean and John also explained that you don't choose a Beatle, the Beatle chooses you. However for the purpose of the show John was channeling Lennon and Sean was channeling McCartney. (There's some pictures on John's Twitter feed showing his new Lennon look.)
