So jealous that I won't be there for any of the midwest shows! Y'all seemed like Good People at the last one I went to. But alas, it's a bit more of a road trip to first ave now than it used to be.

Ha ha, I went to the show the Long Winter's played in Houston. No one was there but 3 teens wanting to me THE Sean Nelson, the regular drunks, and the 6 people from Carissa's Wierd.

I didn't meet anyone from the board... because I was the only person that was on the Long Winters board there.

I will be at Chicago, Metro and Chicago, Sub. We will all shake our booties. Oh Boy.

And hey kids, helpful tips for those planning on being at the Metro on October 10th:

1.) If you don't have tix, get em' ASAP, it's almost sold out. (I hate ticketmaster too.)

2.) Don't even bother trying to park near the Metro. Along with the ocean of drunken cubs fans, The Music Box, playing part of the Chicago Film Festival is right around the corner: good for Sean, bad for people with cars. Laura brilliantly suggests parking along a less busy Redline stop. Get off at Addison.

Also, I heard a rumor that Carissa's Wierd broke up. That would be really sad. Does anyone know if it's true?

aw. That's too bad. Have you ever seen better song titles in your life than those on Songs About Leaving? What does Seattle put in the water when your local burrito shop employees can make an album like that?

where are ya now? I've tried living in other places...but the heartland is where I'm supposed to be.

Chicago is the bestest....all the benefits of either huge coastal metropolis, without the pretention and obscene costs of living. Hard workin', hard drinkin', hard rockin', life lovin' peoples.

Course...I genuinely like every place I've ever been. Good peoples is everywhere.

ready to go

Post by mildlyrestarted »

stephanie and i are back, barely in two pieces.

the "abbreviation tour" was fiercely beautiful and horrible and everything in between, though i'm leaning much more toward the beautiful side of things.

i am completely exhausted, though unable to sleep, because my body is ready to get in the car and drive out to michigan or whatever the hell is next. tour is tough stuff (unless you have playstation, queen dvds, and a shower on your bus). :)

i'm working on getting a few of the 180 pictures i took over the past 5 days up, despite the fact that my soap exploded all over my digital camera's data transfer cord, while somewhere in minnesota...

also, why is it that i met more friendly strangers outside of the subterannean (7) than friendly message board posters (2)? lame.

... but betty felon and tater are fantastic.

iowa city on wednesday was one of the most joyful nights of my life.

if it weren't for Rilo Kiley's Take-offs & Landings (particularly tracks 2 & 3, and 6 & 7), we wouldn't have made it even half-way through this 23-hours-of-driving conquest.

Know what's awesome? Listening to the Long Winters while looking at pictures of the Long Winters (totally coincidentally, BTW).

Nice pictures of my other favorite Barsuk boys too. Thanks for sharing.

dude, my tummy was not happy with the red bull. i bought a case, and me and steph drank it all in 4 days or something.

take note, picture106 = john and sean eating some dude from the audience's pizza. john said something gross about hearing himself chew in the monitors. it was classic.

i'm glad you liked them. i loved taking them.
