HYPE!-The movie...Or Thank God for the Sundance Channel

Post by Harvey Winters »

This movie was awesome!!!!

It showed the genesis of the music (dare I use the "G" word?) in Seattle in the early to mid 90's, and had interviews w/Pearl Jam and Soundgarden...

It also had Nivana's first live performance of "Smells like teen spirit"
(the lyrics were diff, if you have closed caption, turn it on)

I taped it, and I hope to give it to the boys, for when they're feeling homesick...

for the rest of you w/digital cable, it's been on sundance...

PS-Anyone outside of WA ever hear of "7year bitch"?
They were pretty good....

one of my most precious coming-of-age moments has to be the first time i saw kyra sedgwick scrubbing the toilet with dude's tee-shirt, and totally felt fucking vindicated.

Yay! Another decade has passed and it's time for another glut of mid-twenties dramas like Singles and Reality Bites. Hopefully there'll be another counter-corporate indie music surge again too...god bless seattle.
