Postby NatureBoy » Tue Nov 25, 2003 5:16 pm

The Barsuk Records site reports:

This is in addition to the appearance of 'Roderick Claus' at the Croc on the 21st...

Happy Holidays indeed!

I would say yes, because it's at a gallery of some kind. But I would also say no because they say they have a bar...

the battle between the decemberists and the long winters will only be entertaining if they fight West Side Story style.

When you're a Winter, you know it's for keeps
From your first wake up call until your final sleeps!
When you're a Winter, the folks always know
You're in through the sleet and in through the snow!

----

There was a band, as far as I know unsigned, from North Carolina called Faustina. They were somewhere on a line stretching between Sleater-Kinney and The Breeders. Did a lovely cover of "Stay Cool, Boy."

More bands should do versions of that song. Oh, yes.

Got a rocket in your pocket... stay coolie cool, boy!
Don't go off like some yo-yo schooool boy!
No, you gotta stay cool!

not sure how to take that....

it's not that i don't support all ages shows, i do, i'm all for them. i just prefer not to go to them.
know why???? cuz i'm a few months away from THIRTY! yes, that's right, i'm almost thirty. when i started getting into my later 20's i no longer felt comfortable at all ages shows. makes me feel old and out of place.
and it being new year's eve and all, i would prefer it not to be spent around kids that i am possibly 15 years older than. and i would like to ring in the new year w/a real drink as opposed to one that pretends to be a real drink, like bubbling cider.
