Cinnamon......girl

Post by Midori »

Has anyone else heard them play their blend of Cinnamon/Cinnamon Girl? I heard them do it in Cambridge, I was just wondering if they'd done it again and what everyone thought. I thought it was really cool.

Yep, they did the "Cinnamon"/"Cinnamon Girl"/"Cinnamon" medley in St. Louis too...pretty amazing, as the transitions were pretty seamless.

I must say, the trio lineup was remarkable, given the complexity of some of the arrangements on the records....

The St. Louis show was spectacular...you should have been there.

I must say I am really glad they still play this. I saw it last autumn and it blew me away, the rhythm change is so amazing.
And Cinnamon Girl is such a great song.

Hi, all! Sorry to sound like a tard, but are we talking about the Cinnamon Girl by Prince or Type O Negative (and Neil Young???)?

They also did this medley Saturday night at the Crocodile (5/1/04). And some guy came up and started singing along with John...anyone know who that was?

I was wondering about that as well...he came and sang on "Runnin' with the Devil", too. Eric was very generous with his mic.
He also shared with one of the Longhorns for some "la-la-la's" on one of the songs (I don't recall which).
I wish I knew how to share better.

the la-la-las were on Car Parts ... and yes, Eric Corson is a gracious microphone host.

I'm not sure ANYONE knew who that guy was. The band didn't seem to recognize him, either.

Maybe it was the Sasquatch.

Funny - because he didn't even know the words to 'Runnin...'

That's like not knowing the words to the national anthem!

If I were drunk and burst onstage to sing backup, I'd make DAMN sure I knew all the words!

I don't know either, but his drunk girlfriend burned a hole in my shirt and then proceeded to ash all over me. I don't think either of them were very with it.

Yeah, it was a little sad that he wasn't able to sing along with a song whose title contains all the words you actually need to know.

By the way Longhorn1, that was quite the falsetto (on the la la la's for "Car Parts"). Besides doing concert band, have you also sung opera? :)
