My tabs are always relative to the capo, when applicable.

So your tuning is:

D
B
G
D
G
G

correct?

I still can't get this to sound right.... argh! Are you sure about that beginning, or is it just a guess?

Are you playing it relative to the capo? Most of it I'm pretty sure about.

Yeah, it's all being played right. Let me check my tunings again. Tomorrow.

Sorry -- I had written standard tuning on the tab, but it's in that alternate tuning! Maybe that was the problem?

I have no idea what the problem was, but it sounds right now!

D|-7------5-----2-----2------7------5-----2------2-/-5----7----5--|
B|---8------5-----3-----3------8------5-----3-----------------------|
G|-----9------5-----0-----0------9------5---------------------------|

I just added that little fill in there, and don't forget to do the choppy part at the end! I'll keep working on the chords later!

It's A Departure beginning???

G-0-0-0--5--0-0--3--0-0--5--0-0--3--0-0-3-0-3-0-

I know it's open on some string, I watched Jon play it at the show, but I couldn't tell what string it was.

Samaritan.

Code: Select all

e|---------0--0--0-|
B|-9--9--9-2--2--1-|
G|-9--8--7-0--2--2-|
D|-9--9--9-2--2--2-|
A|-7--7--7-0--0--0-|
E|-----------------|

Pick those chords for the intro. Your verse is an open E. Hammer on the G string at the 1st fret, and then the A and D strings on the second.

I totally though it was capo 2 and

2 2 2
3 2 1
2 2 2
0 0 0

But isn't that the same?

That's what I posted earlier. Notes were right, chords were wrong. As evidenced by the need for an open-E for the verse. And evidenced by my eyes watching John play it last week.

Can't argue with the facts.

Oh, speaking of which, I have now updated Unsalted Butter and it is, in fact, 100% correct.

Oh come on, what do you want? With all the nerds in this place, 38% makes you SuperNerd (and BatNerd)!
