PUSHOVER SOLO!

^ = Bend up

e -----------------------------------------------------3^|
B --------------------------------------------------5-----|
G 4^----------4------4^-----------------4^---4--------|
D ------5--7------5--------5--0--2--5-------5----------|
A --------------------------------------------------------|
E --------------------------------------------------------| x2

At the end of the second time, bend the 3 way, way up (to where the b string usually is) and release it again.

Woot, my first solo tab. Input is very much welcome, and feel free to deleet the first post if needed.

I've got the opening riffs for two new songs.

Sky is Open: Bm---|--A-|G---|G----|
Blanket Hog: B---|A---|E---| (piano arranged for guitar).

I haven't gotten far enough in Blanket Hog yet to see if it's supposed to be in open-E or not. It's conceivable, anyway.

Heh. Didn't make it to the xBox. I'm so sick, I passed out before I made it to the next room over. Slept for almost 12 hours. Ick. I'll still try to get those updates done today, but I've got a packed scheduled. Might be tomorrow (in which I have nothing to do and all the time in the world).

That first half of the pushover solo looks good, but it gets a little confusing halfway through there. Remember it's capo'd on the second fret, so all of the tab numbers are assuming the capo is numbered fret zero.

First half:

e -------------------------------------------------------|
B -----------------------------------------------5------|
G 4^----------4------4^--------7---5---4^-----------|
D ------5--7------5-----------7-------------5----------|
A --------------------------5----------------------------|
E -------------------------------------------------------|

Second half:

e -------------------------------------------------------|
B ----------------------------------------------8^------|
G 4^----------4------4^---------7--------9-----------|
D ------5--7------5------------7------10---------------|
A --------------------------5-----------------------------|
E --------------------------------------------------------|

Also, all the string bends marked on the fourth fret aren't upward bends. I bend the string up BEFORE I pick it, so the note is already sharp when it sounds, then I drop the string down to pitch. The effect is a little like a slide guitar or b-bender.

Yeah, I was having a bit of a hard time following the second half myself, but I thought it was my lack of alertness during its attempt. Thanks for the contribution, JR. Looks good! :)

Thank you so much! The bends sound so much better now, and I was totally guessing on the later bars of the solo. Listening to it, it seemed that the lead guitar got really quiet during that part.

It's not that the lead guitar got quiet, it's that the band got LOUD!

Somethings I don't want to hear about
        E                  G

    G                D
You told me I should leave you out
       F            C
Of our love affair because

           G                  D
You're all through with love
     E                  G
You figured out what it was
           G                  D
You're all through with love
C
Mmmm.

fill
e|-----------|
B|-----------|
G|-----------|
D|-0h2-0h2---|
A|-----------|
E|---------3-|

    G                    D
Two drinks and you're so proud
             E            G
You've got it all wrapped up
   G               D
But I don't have a thing to show
        F          C
Now, the highway's turned to dust

           G                   D
You're all through with love
     E                  G
You figured out what it was
           G                   D
You're all through with love
        F          C
Now, the highway's turned to dust

               G                   D
And you're all through with love
     E                  G
You figured out what it was
         G      D  C
You've got it all wrapped up
               G
You got it all wrapped up

I'm stuck at the bridge right now, but here's the first half! :)

Fast fact! Seven is played with a capo on the 2nd fret, all but the low E string.

F
C#
A
E
B
E

is thus the tuning. And no, you can't just tune to drop-D and put a capo on the second fret, because the chords still use that string as if it's in standard. Make sense?

Me too! I have watched close as John played that song four times, now, and I still can't figured out that bridge part. I think I see what he's doing, then go home and try and realize I failed miserably. Alas.
