Sometimes they get in the way when I try to look at what guitar pedals you use. It's the next logical step in guitar-band-nerdiness-geek-out-party-ism.

Yeah -- like I said, that's the old KEXP solo/acoustic version. It might be that same chord progression on the Ultimatum vinyl (I haven't checked) but the PTDTB version is *definitely* in a completely different key.

The other day I was staring at John's (Roderick and Rothman) fingers in videos, and the chords in the song don't look normal. They're up at like the 9th fret, but I'm almost sure it's Chord W, which changes into Chord X, then moves down the neck to Chord Y which changes into Chord Z.

That's icky, and a little challenging to figure out... but you can fake it with power chords pretty well!!! ^_^

Fire Island AK

Wow! That sounds pretty spot on.

And don't worry -- John may have a mane like a lion, but he's a pussycat at heart.

Oh that's you. Take your time. But to Priene, post those tabs on ultimate-guitar.com or something. That's way too good to sit somewhere not popular. (No offense, rawk has more accurate music than anywhere else.)((sour you're the best))

Almost all the rps tabs are from users on this messageboard, like Priene -- so if the tabs there are more accurate than anywhere else, we only have each other to thank.

I have the day off tomorrow, so I'll make a concentrated effort to do it then. And catch up on my PMs.

EDIT: The whole song is more or less up, but it's up to you to piece it together. Corrections are always welcomed and appreciated if anything sounds wrong.

I'm going to Brum tomorrow, so I'll have a good squint at John's fretting and see if my tabs are correct. I'll tell you all on Wednesday if they're rubbish.

But in the meantime, thanks for the kind words about my transcriptions.

To be honest, I was useless at transcribing until I discovered the dual miracle that is Transcribe! and Guitar Pro 5.

Are the tab sites still going? I thought the Music Industry had shut them all down. Again.

The only one I know of is ultimate-guitar.com. It can't be shut down because it's based out of Russia (or something like that).

So cool, have fun at the concert!

Teaspoon bass:

G-------------------------------
D-------------------------------
A 7-7-7-----7--5-5-5------5-
E --------5-7-----------3-5----

That sounds about right for the main riff.

Check your tuning. Assuming your tuning, I've got 7 on the high E.

Code: Select all

D|-7------5-----2-----2-----|
B|---8------5-----3-----3---|
G|-----9------5-----0-----0-|
D|--------------------------|
G|--------------------------|
G|--------------------------|

The next riff has him strumming the open-A (sounds better with the E string muted -- use your thumb or just don't strum it!)) while hammering on the 2nd fret of the D-string.

Thanks for the tuning. You got me started. Want to take over from here?

Are these tabs relative to the capo on 2, or to the nut?
