"You can use these lists to organise other members of the board. Members added to your friends list will be listed within your User Control Panel for quick access to see their online status and to send them private messages. Subject to template support, posts from these users may also be highlighted. If you add a user to your foes list, any posts they make will be hidden by default."
I can't really see myself using the feature, but maybe some people will.

Will there be a side w/dwarves? I'd miss the sunlight a little, but they have all the precious metals.

what i find excellent for this (not a new feature, but it's placed differently) is View new posts located just above the bright blue Fora & Fauna bar on the homepage. It will show all the new posts since you last visited. You have to log on, obviously.
I'm not sure which forum I would pick if I was forced to choose sides in board war. Although I guess for hiding Band Nerd would be the best one: hardly anyone ever comes there, and if they do, they generally have precious guitars with them which makes it harder for them to strike the first blow. Virtually speaking, of course.
Another thing I noticed is that when you hover your mouse below the Search field, it shows the link to "advanced search". How meta is that? :)
The search function (still) does not seem to work tho:
No posts were found because the word waffles is not contained in any post.
No way! Seriously, I tried a couple of words I know must have bee used here, and I almost always get zero returns.
As for the ultimate fight between good and evil (or whatever) on this board, I'm gonna go side with grant, because as we know from Greek mythologie, the nerds always win!
Actually, the Friend or Foe feature is part of a larger Adam and the Ants "theme" we'll be integrating over the coming weeks. Subtle innuendos follow...
I just don't like to delete them, so they go way back!
Also, when you click on the title of a thread, it takes you to the first page, even when you've read it a gazillion times because you keep clicking on it rather than the last page numeral beside it.
did you know you can store an additional 50 in your savebox?
even I haven't filled all my space yet, although I do admit some regular deleting is needed

I think the old board did that as well; but the new 'go to last unread post' link is very handy for that, I find
The old board didn't do it, which is why it's bothering me. Force of habit means I'm always going to the initial page of 15 page long threads. :(
I don't see a "Go to last unread post" link... I see a "View unanswered posts" link -- is that what you mean? Doesn't appeal to me -- just because I didn't answer them doesn't mean I didn't read them.
