Documentary Film about The Long Winters
I'm making a documentary film about The Long Winters. It's called Through With Love, and I've been shooting shows and interviews (with much help from Karousme) since November of last year. The hope is to have the editing finished and the film screened in September of this year.
There is more information, and even some *.mov clips at the official website, http://www.dorsiafilms.com.
Hope you like it. Feel free to contact me with questions or comments.
Thanks!

wow, what i thought to be 'just a DVD with some live performances' (that would have been enough to make me very happy) turns out be a complete documentary...
can i just state the following: SWOON
alas, my quicktime seems to miss some info on compression and i can only hear, not see the preview, but even just this news is simply awesome to the extreme!
every time i think this band and its fans cannot surprise me anymore, there's something new.
Adam and Jace rule!

I wish I could troubleshoot this for you, but I don't have the computer know-how to effectively assist you. Do you have the most up-to-date version of QT? Have you, uh, restarted your computer?
Also, thanks to everyone who has taken a look at the trailer and said something nice about it.

I had the same problem, just a white screen and the sound, so I downloaded Quicktime 7, and it worked. And it was so worth it! I too wasn't expecting anything as professional as this--fantastic stuff.

A sample:
The first night in the band is the toughest, no doubt about it. They march you in naked as the day you were born, skin burning and half blind from that delousing shit they throw on you, and when they put you in that van... and those doors slam home... that's when you know it's for real. A whole life blown away in the blink of an eye. Nothing left but all the time in the world to think about it.

just read all the production journal entries on the DorsiaFilms website, they make a great read. Have I said yet how cool this project is?

"John Roderick leads the other penguins across the desolate plains of Sea.."
"Morgan. Morganmorganmorgan. We're thrilled to have you on board, really we are. But for the last time this film is not about penguins. Yes I know, he may look like one but he is in fact a drummer"
"Ok ok, sorry. Let me try this one more time.... JRod bravely leads his... bandmates across ... downtown Seattle to their next gig. WHERE THEY GET ATTACKED BY A POLAR BEAR"
"Oh that's it, you're fired. Bring in the back up"
"LDUBS ON A PLANE!"
"Good afternoon Mr Jackson"
"CARPARTS MUTHAFUCKAS"
Obviously the September date of expected release in the original message isn't correct...
I keep giving myself very aggressive deadlines and I keep blowing right through them.
That, and Morgan Freeman is being a huge douche about his contract.
I don't know what to tell anyone other than that the film is still a few months away from being edited completely. Thanks for your patience.
