MySpace? More like SOOOOOYESTERDAYSPACE.
Now all the boys and girls are frolicking on Facebook, the new social networking tool that's taken the tweens-to-twenty-somethings by storm. The Long Winters, always known for being on the cutting edge of technology (*cough*), are now represented on Facebook with the Long Winters fanatic group. I think we should all join, spread the word, and make it a center for pictures, stories, and other such social-like-business. Although secondary to the Salon, of course. What do ya'll say?

Just for consistency's sake:
'Twas already a group:

But two Long Winters groups never hurt anybody.

Seems you're right. It's nice that you can see someone's profile only if they add you as a friend. Takes away all the attention-whoring and spamming.zach wrote:Much less retarded.
Many fewer error messages. (read: none.)
Way better functionality.

By the way, "zach has 642 friends"... did you just add your whole high school or are you simply insanely popular?? :)

Wow. I had no idea it was anything close to that. I only added the people I didn't DISLIKE from high school on facebook, but rarely turned away other people's requests, regardless of my like-level of them. I was also highly involved in stuff in college and met a lot of people there. And I've worked in several different places with high numbers of young-ish people.Moni wrote:By the way, "zach has 642 friends"... did you just add your whole high school or are you simply insanely popular?? :)
All the same, I wonder how many people I could list the names of (off the top of my head)?
Oh okay. My schools gave back exactly zero returns, my e-mail addresses... six people. Aaand that's my whole facebook-friend repertoire for the moment. How sad is that. Seems that site never got really popular outside the US and Britain. But Peter Buck has a facebook account, too, so it's definitely cool in my book nonetheless.
