Fuck the time gap, this slays me:

"Our stage show is more like the Comparative Literature faculty of the Experimental College being subjected to low-intensity electric shocks while 400 people shout out requests."

I've only been to 2, both of them in Texass, but I must say I agree.

"I learned the great secret of every songwriter, which is that you don't have to be good at the guitar if you can sing."

Or vice versa? What if you're sort of middle-ground on both?

No.

Vice versa: How many songs do you listen to that are sang by Eddie Van Halen, Angus Young, Randy Rhodes or Jimmy Page. Not many, even though they are all phenomenal guitar players, their vocal talent is nil.

Middle ground: this is every musician around today (mostly, including me). Unfortunately, this is what most of us are stuck with any time your dumb friends put on the radio.

So happy..
