11 songs

Postby Liesbeth » Sat Oct 13, 2007 1:09 pm

sorry, no, this is not about the new LW album.
Apparently John and Nabil picked 11 songs on the spot after their show in Sankt Gallen in February and here you can see what these were.

there's some cool stuff there, but In the Air Tonight? it was a fave of mine when it came out and I was 10, but now is more of a guilty pleasure which is best heard once a decade on a golden oldies show. I wonder if that was Nabil's choice for the drum sound, it's massive.

Now that might be an acceptable excuse.

Just another random theory: It could also be due to Phil Collins being prominently featured on a recent episode of "This American Life" titled "The Break Up". Phil Collins himself calls in and is really, really nice.

It's a great episode. It makes you dig Phil Collins again.

They used to play "In The Air Tonight" when I worked at IKEA, and it's almost impossible to not play air drums in the middle where it breaks. Thanks for the This American Life link, I missed that episode but I think I'm ready to like Phil Collins again.

.38 Special?!?!?

How on earth could you be worried about Phil Collins with 'Hold on Loosely' being the turd floating in this punch bowl. I'm hoping to God this was the 'funny' song on the list...

You don't wanna go and piss off Dickie Betts

Hold On Loosly is great spelling. I don't know the song but I love me some Dickie Betts.

I'm also not familiar with that Clapton song, but he's done some stuff that makes me cringe, so I'm not sure if I want to find out what this one is like...

"Hold on Loosely" makes more sense if you start playing it on guitar.

No, really.

Try it.

Clapton?!? REALLY?!?!? He's a GOD! How could you???

;)

I am shocked tho. I love Clapton. I have to say this is the first I have heard anyone say anything bad of his music.

yea, but that's happened all over every music scenes probably since the beginning of time. i suppose you can hold it against him if you want but that has no baring on his musical ability.
