it's philosophical in a way: can something that's missing make an appearance?

Oh yes, very zen. It's certainly generating a lot of buzz, for an empty nothingness.

I thought about that when I initially started the Sing Again thread, and I'm about to go all linguistics-nerd on everyone, but it felt more natural to refer to the long-gone missing tooth itself than to the subsequent gappy grin. I mean, when I hear "missing tooth" the first image that comes to mind is a mouth that's missing a tooth, not the actual tooth itself. Semantics!
