something I'm rather jealous of

Aurel, Nada Surf fan first class who does the great fansite Nadasurfan.com, has done this amazing thing: he has mapped every single Nada Surf tour. I've done this for TLW in my dreams a million times over, and once started it in Frappr, but I don't think I will ever really do it.

Here's the one for the 2003 tour with The Long Winters and Sondre Lerche as support.

That is cool, but how much longer must the world wait for google maps to provide us with a moving red line and some John Williams music?

Give it time, I'm sure they're working on it.

It's in some super secret beta.

How do you think I got here?! One of the best shows ever -- not to mention of the best recordings I've ever heard... but the Long Winters set is hidden at the bottom of some shoebox at my friend's house.

From Sean's Diary, dated June 17th:
Opening band The Trews (Michael and John both thought they were awesome, by the way) brought a ton of people out, nearly all of whom left one second after the last power chord had rung dry.

This is very, very true. I understand the place was respectfully packed for the Trews, but by the time I got there for the Long Winters, I was one of maybe six people in the room (and I brought two friends)!

I was gonna make a joke about how it should, ideally, be Indiana Jones music rather than *insert bad movie with John Williams Score here*, but even though what I've seen of, say, Heartbeeps, was fucking terrible, I'm sure the music was just fine. Indy would probably make for a better cross promotional deal, however.
