For the Completeists Out There...

Postby Unremarkable » Tue Apr 15, 2008 1:42 pm

An early version of The Commander Thinks Aloud appeared on a tribute cd to Jim Clowes. I bought this cd a while ago, but lost it. It has now since been found when I was going through a bunch of crap from my brother brought over from our parents' house. I don't think it's the best version of the song, but I figured some might like to hear it, if they had not yet.

Thanks, I've actually been hoping I'd come across this track somehow!

Maybe not the best version--but it definitely "feels right" for a tribute album...

John's voice sure has changed and Holy Scheiße (as JV would say) does it sound great!

That was such a good show! Can't wait to see the band play again.

Soooo glad that video is available. I forgot what a great performance it was. At the time, I kindof felt distracted by the venue and sit-down audience ...I needed a drink, less light and other LW fans in close proximity!

gotta say, my fav. is still the version he played @ the union hall brooklyn, john playing the lead piano part on acoustic guitar, rothman playing keys.. but this is nice too.
