John Helps Gibson Debut a New Guitar

Postby pahouk » Wed Dec 02, 2009 5:41 pm

It looks like John is going to help Gibson debut a new guitar at EMP next Monday : http://www.genestout.com/index.php/gibs ... usk-tiger/ . I know absolutely nothing about guitars but it does look beautiful.

I don't know much about guitars either, and completely missed first and second-generation robot guitars. Do these third-generation ones know how to hoover yet?

I don't even remember there being a second generation one? I wish there was a better picture of it, but I guess that's what an unveiling is for. I think it's damn cool that John's in there with Gibson well enough that he can be an attraction for an event like this. You'd think they'd try and hire Edge or Slash or some other guitarist with one name. Not that I'm complaining, mind you!

Are you implying that half-guitars, half-vacuum cleaners are the wave of the future?

Dang. I read it as "hover" and thought it was an awesome Back To The Future II reference.

Fail.

Sour, you're a genius.
That would be so cool, hovering guitars so you don't need to mess with guitar straps.

well, all I know is that vacuum-cleaner guitar sound was the wave of the past - ah, those wonderful days of The Jesus And Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine...

John on Twitter:
Back in Seattle, headed to EMP to demo Gibson's new self-tuning guitar. They asked me because I'm the world's most out-of-tune guitarist.

That made me laugh out loud

The hovering of guitars was all your idea. Or how I misinterpreted your idea. Which I'm not sure if that grants me legitimate credit. But maybe I should patent it now, JIC, and earn millions later?
