John in The Believer July/August 2011 Issue

Postby pahouk » Tue Jun 28, 2011 7:57 pm

John has a piece in the July/August 2011 issue of The Believer: http://store.mcsweeneys.net/index.cfm/f ... baaba9b4c2. I think he wrote the Sedaratives section, which I believe is the advice column. Has anyone seen this?

I assumed you got information beamed directly to your lair. I thought only Luddites such as myself continue to look for words printed on dead trees.

Oh, if only you knew how much that thought both sustains me and wounds me.

(I'm in the dead tree business.)

Quick excerpt from John's column in which he discusses the romance of train travel: http://believermag.com/issues/201107/?r ... n_roderick.

Will have to check the bookshop to see if it has made its way across the ocean yet, seems like the perfect holiday reading. I will be travelling by boat. Well, ferry actually, but that doesn't sound as romantic.
