cannot resist this, even though you may have seen it before in other places:
what was #1 on the day you were born
there is no Dutch chart option, inexplicably, so I'll go for both available options:
UK: Mungo Jerry - In the summertime
US: The Beatles - The long and winding road
I was born not very long after the Beatles split, so I guess the US chart reflected that. I prefer the UK #1, theme wise. And it's appropriate, because there was a heatwave when I was born. Well, it's not like I made my mother give birth during the hottest part of the day... or? Time of birth: 4.30 pm! Sorry mum.

sweet jesus.
the U.S. No.1 on the 3rd March 1971 was... One Bad Apple by The Osmonds
the U.K. No.1 on the 3rd March 1971 was... My Sweet Lord by George Harrison
Uh, I remember watching their tv show, yet i have no recollection of the Osmond ditty. Probably for the best.
Thank god for the Quiet Beatle. My honor has not been completely savaged.

the U.K. No.1 on the 12th December 1981 was... Don't You Want Me by The Human League
the U.S. No.1 on the 12th December 1981 was... Physical by Olivia Newton-John
Can't say that I know either, but I do know that Olivia Newton-John=EEW...Not that I was expecting anything great, most of the 80's #1 hits probably aren't on my all-time top tunes list.

Great. I think I'm the oldest. No, actually...I think J-rod's older than me.
At least, he'd better be. I can't handle this "grandma of the board" crap.
ps: I adore Olivia Newton John's "Magic". For you young kids, it's off the Xanadu soundtrack. Surely you've heard of it?! Allow me:
It's the 80's Blockbuster musical featuring GENE KELLY ON A QUEST TO BUILD A ROLLER SKATING RINK...WITH ASSISTANCE FROM AN AIRBRUSH ARTIST AND A GREEK MUSE.
I am SO not making this up. Also: the gatefold vinyl has a stunning airbrush painting of ON-J, and a "sexy" shot of Jeff Lynne and the rest of ELO. crazy!

you have no idea how old I felt, with all these songs from my childhood and people saying they don't know them.
I'm your senior by some nine months, Squid, but yeah, John is grampier than both of us...
As for young, wasn't there a 14-year old in our salon for a while? And word, there was this hipster girl as well. C'mon Un, you are allowed to go to 21+, you are OLD!

I am highly disturbed that I don't know that McCartney song. At all.
And even more disturbed that I know every single word to "Forever Your Girl," and likely every song that that album.
